What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I originally planned to just get over the field on the Twins, but the more I’ve looked at it, the more I am finding a handful of other offenses that can match them. With that, my preference is smaller-field tournaments where there is likely to be a bigger ownership edge to be had by fading the Twins. The Blue Jays, Orioles, Dodgers, and Tigers are my favorite offenses along with the Twins. In any lineup where I’m not stacking Twins, I won’t be too concerned with pitcher ownership and will just play for the upside with Spencer Strider and Tyler Glasnow.
stevietpfl: I will be focusing on small-field contests. I’ll build 2-3 teams with the mindset of fading the Twins and being overweight on Spencer Strider. The Twins have the best matchup on the slate, but their pOWN% is a little uncomfortable for me on an 11-game slate. I think the Blue Jays, Tigers, and Dodgers are excellent pivots off the Twins. I also like some of the cheap power bats from the Rockies and Cardinals.
Dean78904: I focus on single-entry and smaller-field tournaments. I like and am interested in the presumably chalky Spencer Strider, but he is not an absolute must for me. I don’t make a lot of lineups, but I think I’ll end up being over the field on both Strider and the Yankees. If I need salary, I’m good just stepping down to both pitchers in the HOU/SEA game (Brandon Walter and Luis Castillo). I’m not against playing them together on the same DK lineup. Officially, I’m still debating on the Twins, but ideally, I’ll be different elsewhere in lineups if I’m Minnesota heavy. I want to mostly fade them, but they are so cheap besides Byron Buxton.
