What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: There are so many offenses all jumbled together that I prefer MME. I have 11 offenses in my top tier and another 8 that are only a skosh behind. I don’t see any great way to separate them to build an ideal single-entry team. On top of that, there is really no hitting chalk anywhere, so you can’t gain an advantage by playing the ownership game. Because the offense is so spread out, I’ll keep a very narrow pitcher pool, made up primarily of Logan Gilbert, Will Warren, and Dylan Cease. They will be popular, but that doesn’t matter at all if the offenses are all different.
stevietpfl: I will be focusing on single-entry contests tonight. I’ll make 3-5 lineups and spread them out in that contest type. I have a hard time getting away from Logan Gilbert, Will Warren, and Dylan Cease. I could see Landen Roupp as a value option, but overall, I think pricing is soft enough to pay up for pitching. As far as the bats, I’ll be overweight on the Padres, Yankees, and Brewers.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – With softer pricing than we are used to seeing, paying up for pitching will be a priority for me. I will have a narrow pool of pitchers featuring Logan Gilbert, Dylan Cease, and Will Warren, and dropping down to Jose Soriano if I need salary relief. I plan to spread my exposure around with different stacks while also paying close attention to any potential weather concerns that may develop closer to lock time.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests, and I don’t make a lot of lineups. We have a massive slate where 28 SPs will throw baseballs; however, I expect my pitcher pool to be super tight, mostly consisting of Logan Gilbert, Dylan Cease, and Will Warren. Ryan Pepiot and Jose Soriano are next in line, and if I’m really desperate for salary relief on DK, I’d consider Eury Perez, but again, I just might keep it to my top 3 arms. I keep trying to find a favorite stack, and I just can’t isolate one team. This will likely lead to my stacks being of the 3-3-2 / 4-2-2 variety in the hopes of getting the right pieces on multiple teams.
