MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, March 27
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Shohei Ohtani
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
boggslite: Shohei Ohtani
Dean78904: Shohei Ohtani
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: We’re still likely to see some unexpected shenanigans as we ease into the season, so I prefer smaller-field tournaments where you don’t have to catch the extreme outlier performances to win. As much as I try to spread out early in the season, I’m finding it pretty easy to narrow things down on both the pitching and hitting sides. I’ll have 5 pitchers and 3 main stacks in most of my lineups, getting way over the field on the Dodgers.
ebeimfohr: I am a big fan of smaller-field, single-entry-style tournaments most times, but particularly early in the season. This is the time we know the least, with the most chaos, but ownership still condenses around similar themes each slate, and the extreme outliers are less likely to prohibit you from making your way to the top of the standings. Specifically tonight, you can get extremely heavy on the Dodgers while doing it smartly with minor pivots and still build a strong, small-field squad.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Outside of the Dodgers and Blue Jays, there isn’t a lot to love offensively. That being said, I won’t go all-in on both teams and will likely spread my exposure to teams like the A’s, Astros, and Angels. I’m happy to pay up for Chris Sale if he works in my lineups, but I also have no problem saving some salary with Sandy Alcantara, Michael King, or Mike Burrows.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I don’t expect to get too cute with pitching, as I expect my pool to basically consist of Chris Sale, Sandy Alcantara, Cole Ragans, and George Kirby. The Dodgers will be popular, but I’m not shying away from them. My way to be different will be either not fully completing Dodgers stacks, not rostering Shohei Ohtani, or pairing the Dodgers with 5-1-1-1/4-2-2–type stacks.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
