How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I am going to take some shots on stacks projecting for less ownership. The Dodgers will likely carry a lot of ownership, and I am just hoping that Dakota Hudson can get enough ground balls to prevent them from going nuts. Teams like San Diego and Boston project well but likely won’t be nearly as popular, and even a cheaper stack like Miami makes some sense in order to fit high-end one-off bats and pitching around your stack.
squirrelpatrol: This is about as large and wide open of a slate as we’ve seen this season. There are 26 starting pitchers, but no pitcher has a strikeout prop over 6.5. There is no game in Coors Field or an implied team total over 6 runs. I’ll spread out my exposures widely for multi-entry, but in general, I’ll continue with my strategy of paying down for pitching, targeting cheaper pitchers with good matchups, and paying up for bats with speed and power.
boggslite: With most of the top-end pitchers drawing tough matchups and not projecting well, I plan to spend down at the position, especially on two-pitcher sites. There aren’t many cheap bats to complement the expensive stacks, which will force me to look at guys like Jose Soriano and Tobias Myers in their appealing matchups. Walker Buehler will likely carry massive ownership, and if that’s the case, I will likely fade him, even with his great price and matchup.
ebeimfohr: I love these slates with no clear standout pitching or starting pitchers who project just so much better (raw points or points per dollar) compared to the rest of the options. This allows me to have far less opportunity cost either spending down at pitcher or pivoting off the more popular options, which in turn allows me to spend up for the elite hitting. Tournaments typically always come down to the big games from the bats, but especially so on these slates. So if I can spend down and have lower ownership to afford teams like the Dodgers and Rangers, that’s the perfect scenario to me.
Alex Sonty: The field is likely gonna have a diverse set of builds, spreading out ownership across the pitching and hitting pools, so I’m gonna just hit the gas on the Braves and Dodgers in smaller-field tournaments. I’ll get different by spending down at pitcher and with my Guardians and Yankees secondary stacks.
