What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: This is a very strange slate, where we have so many good – but not great – pitchers that it leaves us with a big, muddled pool on both sides. I see way too many pitchers and offenses that are closely bunched to think that I can hit every reasonable combo, so I prefer to go with smaller-field tournaments where you don’t have to catch the most random outliers. I will be most focused on the Royals and Giants but will have 5-6 stacks in primary lineups. On DK, I’ll go with mostly cheaper pitching centered around Trevor McDonald, Joey Wentz, Sandy Alcantara, and Jason Alexander. On FD, it’s a little too easy to just go with Shane Bieber.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments present an interesting decision point. With a chalk, min-priced pitcher, Trevor McDonald, likely carrying the most ownership, my lean is to pay up at SP, especially on two-pitcher sites. Shane Bieber and George Kirby are my top two targets, but I also have interest in Quinn Priester, Emmet Sheehan, and Zac Gallen. Playing in Sacramento, the Royals are my top offense, followed by the Astros and Giants.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. My pitching pool will primarily consist of some combination of Shane Bieber, Trevor McDonald, and George Kirby (assuming we get a goofy Dodgers lineup). If I need to extend beyond those guys, Sandy Alcantara and Quinn Priester are next up. Ideally, I’d be into the offenses that are actually playing for something, but I’m first looking at the Royals and Astros (who at least have an outside shot to make the playoffs).
