What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the large-field tournaments. While I like Jacob deGrom as a safe option at the top of the pitching board, I am taking a stand on Jesus Luzardo over deGrom as my GPP SP1. I am also going to be overweight on stacks of both the Athletics and Orioles in what could become a high-scoring game in Baltimore.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max entry contests. Jesus Luzardo and Joey Cantillo are the pitchers I will be overweight on, and I will be underweight on Jacob deGrom. It will be popular, but I do like the ATH/BAL game along with ARI and even COL as a sneaky GPP stack.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. There’s a few stacks I love that are projecting for really low ownership, like Miami, Milwaukee, and Colorado. I plan on being significantly overweight on those teams. I’ll likely play some of the chalkier pitchers like deGrom and Luzardo, but I’ll be fading Blake Snell against the Blue Jays.

tcsmith031: It’s 20-max GPPs for me tonight. There are a lot of terrific bats worth paying up for on this slate, so I like the idea of rolling the dice on some of the cheap SP2s on DraftKings. Joe Boyle and Jack Perkins help to offset the cost of pairing Jacob deGrom or Jesus Luzardo with an expensive stack. I’ll also play both sides of the Eduardo Rodriguez situation against the Rockies. He’s arguably too cheap for the matchup at $7,900 on DK, but I’m also not sure he’s a good enough pitcher at this stage of his career to warrant heavy ownership. That puts the Rockies in play for stacking.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
