What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer large-field tournaments today, as I like too much offense to narrow it down for a single-entry lineup. I’m most torn on the Wrigley Field game, where we have incredible hitting weather, but the matchup wouldn’t be at the top of the charts in neutral conditions. I am going to wait to see projected ownership closer to lock, but my lean is to be under the field on the Cubs, as scary as that is. I love the Blue Jays, Nationals, Diamondbacks, and even the Red Sox, Twins, and Rays, so I don’t want to go crazy with an expensive team against a pitcher in Matthew Liberatore, who is borderline elite against lefties. I am not going to spread out far at all on the pitching side and will be loading up on Ranger Suarez, pairing him with Chad Patrick if salary allows. Otherwise, I’ll pair him with Max Scherzer or Ryne Nelson.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-entry contests on both sites. I will have a very small pitching pool, with Ranger Suarez, Chad Patrick, and Max Scherzer being in the majority of my lineups. On DK, the Cubs are a team I will be extremely overweight on. On FD, I will be overweight on the Yankees. Addison Barger and Dansby Swanson are a couple of the core cheaper bats I will be building around in my 20 lineups.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field contests. I plan to be ridiculously overweight on the Wrigley wind game. While Matthew Liberatore is good at racking up ground balls, the Cubs’ projected lineup features six bats with at least a 30% fly-ball rate against lefties this season. On the other side, the Cardinals are super cheap, so I’ll be loading up on them as well.

tcsmith031: It will be single-entry and 20-entry contests for me today. I have no qualms with eating the chalky Wrigley bats in single entry where ownership is less of a concern, but I’ll cast a much wider net in multi-entry contests. The Mets and Angels are a couple of under-the-radar stacks with enough power to get to Carlos Rodon and Max Scherzer, so I don’t mind attacking those potentially chalky arms in GPPs. The Brewers are also projected for curiously low ownership despite an advantageous matchup against Cal Quantrill, so I’ll take an overweight approach with Milwaukee as well.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
