How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: In my large field GPP entries tonight, I am going to be underweight on everything Dodgers-related. I know they are still playing for playoff seeding and are at home against the Rockies, but we are also going to see tons of ownership. Walker Buehler simply hasn’t shown anything near quality stuff this season, and even though he’s cheap and facing the Rockies, I can’t endorse him as a chalky play. Being underweight on the offense is more nerve-racking, but the likes of Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman are very expensive, and Cal Quantrill is not a gas can. I simply prefer other spots like the Padres and Guardians tonight.
Krayton: I like paying down at pitcher tonight, starting with Martin Perez facing the White Sox. He is cheap on both sites and allows you to get exposure to the top offenses, such as LAD, NYY, HOU, ARI, and SDP. I will be taking an underweight stance on the Padres but want heavy exposure to LAD and NYY, teams that have the power to break the slate. Even though Walker Buehler hasn’t been great this season, I don’t mind playing him against the Rockies, and I will be playing both Buehler and Perez on DK to get the bats.
tcsmith031: There are enough quality offenses on this slate to where I feel comfortable coming in underweight on the potentially popular Padres against Chris Flexen. This is still a pitcher-friendly park, and the Padres aren’t typically the kind of team that’ll hit 6 home runs and completely break the slate. I’ll gladly pivot that ownership to teams like the Astros, Dodgers, Yankees, Royals, and Diamondbacks instead.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be underweight on both the Padres and Astros while trying to double up my exposure on the Dodgers and Diamondbacks. I’ll be playing a ton of Martin Perez to be able to spend up for as much Ohtani and Betts as possible.
