MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, April 19
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stlcardinals84: Shohei Ohtani (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
Krayton: Shohei Ohtani (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
TJ Zwarych: Shohei Ohtani (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I am going to play lighter volume today, with around 3-5 entries in some smaller-field tournaments. I don’t really love this slate, everything differs between FD and DK, and I just don’t have as much conviction as usual. After being underweight on the Dodgers the last two nights, I will play more of them on FD today in a matchup against Michael Lorenzen at Coors Field. That game is not available on DK, where I think things will be spread out enough to where you don’t have to worry much about ownership. I plan to be the most overweight on Robbie Ray and Joey Cantillo as my favorite pitching options.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests and 20-max contests. On FD, I don’t mind sprinkling in a cheaper pitcher option like Bailey Ober to allow me to go overweight on the Dodgers in Coors Field. On DK, Jacob Misiorowski is my top pitcher, and I will be targeting the Yankees as my top stack, with some cheaper options like Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger standing out. Ryan Weathers and Joey Cantillo are my favorite cheaper options to pair with Misiorowski. I don’t think the Yankees will garner as much ownership going against a top-tier pitcher like Cole Ragans.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I’ll be keeping a really tight pitching pool so that I can mix-and-match my stacks. I’ll go all in on Robbie Ray and Jacob Misiorowski while fading some of the cheap chalky options (e.g. Joey Cantillo). On FD, Garrett Crochet reaches that top tier of pitchers as well.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
