What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing about 20 entries in large-field tournaments on this holiday Sunday, and this is a tough slate for offense. I just don’t see a lot of stand-out options, which means ownership is likely going to congregate on the top few teams. I am going to take a stance on Jesus Luzardo > Tarik Skubal as my SP1 for salary (on DK) and matchup (on FD) reasons, and that will allow me a little more freedom to spend on bats. I also like some lower-owned stacks like the A’s and Tigers.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-entry max. I plan on having a smaller pitching pool, with Tarik Skubal, Jesus Luzardo, and Clay Holmes as the trio I am building around. CIN is one of my favorite cheaper stacks, and I like getting overweight on the Dodgers, as they aren’t projecting for all that much ownership. With Shohei Ohtani projected to be back today, I will be getting over the field on him, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I plan to keep a very tight pitching pool. Jesus Luzardo and Tarik Skubal are my top options, but I’ll also mix in Max Fried, Ryan Pepiot, Clay Holmes, and Grant Holmes for GPPs. It’s tough to spend up for stacks with how heavy I’ll be on Luzardo and Skubal, so I’ll utilize some cheap stacks like CIN, CWS, and DET while spending up for individual bats.

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
