What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I have just enough to like on both the pitching and hitting sides that my favorite format would be something like 20-max. I will play single entry as well, but I also don’t feel the need to spread out so much that I have to go deep into MME. I don’t think it will be contrarian at all, but I will fade the most-expensive pitchers, focusing mostly on Jack Flaherty and then cheaper SP2s on DK. There is enough good offense that I don’t think anything gets chalky enough to worry about. I’ll start with the Orioles and Dodgers, but then I will spread out quickly to the Cubs, Rays, A’s, and Yankees.
headChopper: Large-field GPPs are my preferred contest tonight. Looking at the pitching options, I’m having a hard time differentiating between Max Fried, Hunter Brown, and Jack Flaherty — so I’ll have at least one of those guys (if not two) in every lineup and fill in the second starter with a cheaper option. I also like the Charlie Morton fade. That, plus running a 4-man stack in every lineup with limited secondary stacks, should be enough to get different.
stevietpfl: I’ll be playing single-entry and 20-entry-max contests. I think we have the right mix of solid pitching and stacks with a lot of potential. I’m not too concerned about ownership on hitting, so I’ll be playing the Yankees, Cubs, Rays, Angels, A’s, Astros, and Dodgers. As far as pitching, I’ll be overweight on Jack Flaherty and Tylor Megill. One of my biggest stands will be the Angels, as that is one of my favorite spots on this slate.
Dean78904: My main focus is on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Today is pretty much Groundhog Day when compared to yesterday, as we have a slate with mostly unappealing hitting weather and a Dodgers offense that is in its own tier. If there is a difference, it’s that pitching is not as deep. There are some playable arms in the mid-tier, but I expect to mostly pay up for at least one pitcher on DK, and while it might cost me a big bat or two, I’m tinkering with the idea of going double spend-up at pitcher on DK to be a little different. There are not a ton of appealing totals or hitting environments, so I will continue to roll out 4-2-1-1 / 3-3-1-1 type of stacks in the hopes of hunting for random HRs on teams that won’t quite get there.
