What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 lineups in the large-field tournaments. I am going to go with a very narrow pitching pool. Hunter Brown is the obvious SP1, and I’ll be playing him plenty despite high projected ownership. From there, I might very well only include 3 other pitchers in my pool, with Dylan Cease, Yusei Kikuchi, and Sean Manaea. I really like Detroit as a top stack with their massive favorable park shift, and their lineup has a nice mix of expensive and affordable bats to be able to work stacks around while still being able to spend up at pitcher.
headChopper: I’m running 20 lineups in large-field GPPs. With 12 games and so much good offense, it’s tough to narrow down to just 1 build. I’m almost certain Hunter Brown will be my SP1, and I’ll be stacking heavily from one of the many big-time offenses in play.
stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on single-entry and 3-entry-max contests. I think outside of Hunter Brown, this is a weak pitching slate. Brown is the pitcher on the slate you need to make a stand on. I’ll be overweight on him and underweight on the Astros and Dodgers. Early pOWN% shows those to be the high-combination lineup builds. I’ll be looking at the popular A’s and Tigers while using the Brewers and Cardinals, who are projecting to be lower owned, to be different.
Dean78904: Officially, I am still debating how to handle the DET/ATH game, which should be popular (especially in the single-entry and smaller-field contests I focus on). If I get away from it, the Blue Jays, Astros, and Angels are my first pivots. The lefty Twins are also in play If I’m HR-hunting and don’t have a lot of salary left. What I do know is that Hunter Brown is my very clear top SP, and he’ll likely be in every lineup I make.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
stlcardinals84: Hunter Brown – He will likely be popular, but I want to make sure I get overweight compared to the field.
