Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer larger-field MME tournaments tonight, as I can only find one offense that I would really want to prioritize, but I can’t make them fit in easy enough while still getting the pitchers that I want. Outside of the Dodgers, it’s a big tangle of at least 5 teams, but really more like 8-10 teams that I want to play at similar levels. The real trick that I see is how much great high-end hitting there is, so my goal is to be able to play expensive one-off bats. That means I’ll be looking to stack cheaper teams, or at least cheaper bottom-of-the-order bats, so that I can get to guys like Shohei Ohtani, Byron Buxton, Willson Contreras, and Pete Crow-Armstrong while still playing top-tier pitching.

headChopper: I am playing smaller-field tournaments. I will be overweight on the Dodgers bats and well above the field, then most likely fill out the rest of my lineup with one-offs after locking in my stack. On DraftKings, I’ll probably hang out in the midrange at pitcher and grab two guys whose salaries are under $9,000. On FanDuel, with only one pitcher and lineup construction being much easier, I’ll wait for the lineups to come in and play the best pitcher I can find based on my metrics, which heavily weight the specific opposing lineup each pitcher is facing that day.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. With losing Chris Sale to poor weather, I don’t think we have a strong standout “safer” option at pitcher. I like the matchups for Gavin Williams (DK), Justin Wrobleski, Logan Henderson, Peter Lambert, and Michael King the most. Those are the pitchers I will build around. With the lack of strong pitching options, we have some strong offenses. I want to build around the Dodgers, Yankees, Guardians (DK), and Red Sox. With their prices, I’ll be underweight on the Cubs. I like the spot for them a lot, but their prices are too high.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. On DK, Gavin Williams is very clearly my favorite arm with his recent K spike. It is not as obvious for me as far as my FD1/DK2 SP, with Gerrit Cole, Justin Wrobleski, and Logan Henderson being my top targets. The Dodgers, Padres, Red Sox, and Twins are my favorite offenses. I’m not sure if my main lineup will be some form of a Dodgers stack, but either way, I don’t expect it to include Shohei Ohtani. He is great, obviously, but I just don’t expect to have the salary for him. I also want to point out that he is dealing with some knee discomfort and has not stolen a base since May 16th, which is 57 games ago. No, you’re not rostering Ohtani for stolen bases, but I like having multiple routes to fantasy points when I’m paying such a big asking price.
