MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, May 7

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Matt Chapman
squirrelpatrol: Ronald Acuna
stevietpfl: Bobby Witt
boggslite: Matt Chapman
eys819: Matt Chapman

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I think we are going to see chalk in several areas. We have a chalk spend-up pitcher (Yamamoto), a chalk value pitcher (Ober), and two chalk offenses in good hitting environments (Giants, Cubs). Among all that chalk, the one thing I’m least interested in fading is Yoshinobu Yamamoto. There are enough high-upside offenses that it’s not difficult to get away from the Giants and Cubs. While they are my two favorite teams, I’ll start my single-entry builds with other stacks, like the Royals, Twins, Yankees, Astros, and Dodgers.

squirrelpatrol: I’m much more willing to spend down at pitcher and up on bats this season, and that will continue tonight. I’ll be under the field on Yoshinobu Yamamoto, spreading some of that exposure out to cheaper pitchers with good matchups who still have some upside. For the bats, I’ll favor the Cubs over the Giants for the chalkier stacks while also spreading out to some of the lower-owned stacks with upside.

stevietpfl: On FanDuel, I only plan on playing a few lineups, and I will just lock Yoshinobu Yamamoto. On DraftKings, I want to be overweight on Yamamoto and underweight on Seth Lugo. As far as bats, I love this spot for the Cubs, and they’re my main stack. I will be full-stacking the Cubs, Brewers, Royals, and Dodgers.

boggslite: The only three pitchers I am interested in are Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Bailey Ober, and Seth Lugo. Ober and Lugo carry some risk but have plenty of strikeout upside, and their prices are very attractive on DK. They will likely be highly owned, but I will eat the chalk on this type of slate and look to get different with my bats.

eys819: Yoshinobu Yamamoto is going to be popular, but he is in an amazing spot against the Marlins, and I intend to have more exposure than the field. Where I am playing chalk bats, I will differentiate at pitcher by going with Reynaldo Lopez and Luis Gil. The Cubs are cheap enough where I am comfortable spending a little more at SP2 than the chalk construction (with Bailey Ober). The Royals and Cardinals will be my primary pivots to get away from chalk bats.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
