What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stevietpfl: For the second straight day, I don’t love the pitching options. I’m going to focus on single-entry and 3-entry-max contests. Taking a massive stand on Hunter Brown didn’t work last night, but I’ll be going back to the well with a stand on Sonny Gray. Early pOWN% looks heavy on Blue Jays and Astros. In small-field contests, I’m going to fade them and be overweight on the Tigers, A’s, Cardinals, and Royals.

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 lineups in the large-field tournaments. I am going to spread out my stack exposure quite a bit, looking to be overweight on the Tigers, Mets, and Rangers while being underweight on the Astros. I will carry a narrow pitching pool, with a preference for Framber Valdez as my spend-up over Sonny Gray and Eric Lauer as my preferred cheaper target.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs, and similarly to last night with Hunter Brown, I plan to either hit the lock button or play close to 100% Framber Valdez. I’ll mix-and-match my stacks with him, focusing on the Tigers, Athletics, and Rangers.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

stevietpfl: Sonny Gray — Gray enters tonight with a 22.6% strikeout-to-walk ratio. Even at this point in his career, he has great command. He’s done a great job limiting offenses while still having plenty of upside. The Pirates have one of the worst offenses in baseball. The projected lineup has a .128 ISO, .305 wOBA, and 23% strikeout rate against RHP this season. I think this is a high-floor, high-upside spot for Gray.
