MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 16

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Mookie Betts
squirrelpatrol: Mookie Betts
stevietpfl: Mookie Betts
boggslite: Mookie Betts
ebeimfohr: Mookie Betts

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I will stay fairly condensed on the pitching side, with a primary pool of Logan Gilbert, Jared Jones, Lance Lynn, and Hunter Greene. The expensive stacks are all closely bunched, but I will go a little over the field on the Dodgers and under the field on the Braves. The Blue Jays, Cubs, and Diamondbacks will be my next primary group, and I’ll have different versions of those stacks with a variety of one-offs surrounding them.

squirrelpatrol: I’ll continue spending down on pitchers since there aren’t many aces in the league that consistently rack up big workloads and strikeout numbers, and I’ll spend up on hitting. I’ll pair some of the more expensive stacks that have power, like Atlanta, with lower-cost stacks that have speed, like Washington.

stevietpfl: It’s a 10-game slate, so I’m not worried about ownership as much as I would be on a 5-game slate. My pitching pool will be Hunter Greene, Jared Jones, Logan Gilbert, Lance Lynn, and Yusei Kikuchi. I feel good about all five of these guys. I think it’s a great slate for hitting as well. I think there are 8 teams that have the upside to score 10+ runs. I’m going to build a lot of 4/4 and 5/3 stacks.

boggslite: There are a lot of mismatches on both sides today, and I plan to exploit them rather than worry about ownership. At SP, I will target the strikeout upside of Hunter Greene, Logan Gilbert, Lance Lynn, and Jared Jones; only dropping down to a cheap option like JP Sears if I have to. I don’t expect the bats to disappoint like they did yesterday, so I will go out of my way to get exposure to several offenses that have upside and target the value bats in order to pay up for pitching.

ebeimfohr: The elite bats really, really did not come through last night, but the plan of navigating away from all of our opponents building their lineups through expensive pitching worked like a charm. Several cheap pitchers had strong games on DK, while multiple lower-owned pitchers on FD were very strong. I’ll continue to target these high-powered, elite offenses in top spots while the field jams the high-end pitchers and gets forced into popular below-average hitters.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
