Happy Friday! We’ve got a good looking 10-game slate with a lot of everything. We have some ace pitching, most of the league’s top offenses, plus we are back to Coors Field on the hitting side with the Mariners in the Mile High City. I have some strong initial leans when I glance at the slate, but let’s see how it all shakes out after digging in.

Friday giveth what Wednesday hath taketh away. I had built about 50 Freddy Peralta lineups on Wednesday before the news that he was being pushed back to tonight. I prefer this matchup over what he was getting on Wednesday, and I’ll reiterate what I said (I don’t know if I can really use the word reiterate when I really just mean copy and paste):
I’ve said it before his last couple starts, and I’ll say it again – it’s quite possible that he is hitting a new level and simply becomes the best DFS pitcher in the league. He has always had the strikeout upside, which is soaring higher through 3 starts, and the control just keeps getting better. At some point, he’ll regress and he’ll have a bad start—I’m not saying he’s just going to go 35-0—but at this moment, I am all in on this skill set.
Back to present day, hello again!
It’s a big enough slate with enough other good pitching that I won’t be lock-buttoning Peralta, but he’s my clear SP1 on every site in every format. On DK, at just $9,500, I’m going to have to put up quite a struggle with myself to make a few just-in-case lineups without him.
