Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 11, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Saturday! We’ve got baseball spread all throughout the day, giving us a couple different slates to look at. I’m going to start with a look at the early 7-game DK slate, which starts at 1:05pm ET. Then I’ll be back with a look at the 7-game evening slate, which is the same on both sites with a 7:10pm ET start time. It looks like we’re going to get another day without any weather concerns, so let’s dive in and see what we find.

Saturday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

Senga of the Mets

A note as we get started today – with pitchers now starting to move into their 3rd turn through the rotation, the numbers I reference in these pitcher tiers will be 2025-2026 combined. This will start to incorporate current year form as we get further into the season, and at some point toward summer, we’ll switch to 2026 only after we get a large enough sample size.

EARLY SLATE PITCHING

This is a decent group of pitchers, some of them with plus matchups.

There is good news and bad news with Edward Cabrera so far. I did not like seeing the 5 walks in his last start, but he’s still allowed no runs on just 2 hits through 11 innings this season. He has the same swinging strike rate as last season, but his velocity and Stuff+ numbers are down a tick. He hasn’t been hit hard, but an .077 BABIP and 0% HR/FB rate are still lucky. Put it all together, and I simply don’t know. What I am doing for now is just assuming he’s the same guy from the past couple years – a 25-26% K pitcher with borderline control. I am also still of the opinion that there is more talent than that lurking here, and on a day with good pitching conditions in Wrigley Field, he’s my SP1. I have enough questions that I’m not going all in, but he’ll be the first name I click in my first lineup.

Kodai Senga has ramped up the strikeouts in his first couple of starts, while still have the same control issues as always. With his velocity all the way back up to where it was before his 2024 shoulder injury and with the way he’s started, I’m assuming we are right back to the high-strikeout, high-walk pitcher from his rookie season. I would say he has a higher realistic ceiling than anyone on this slate, but he’s also going to continue to have a wide range of outcomes with the sketchy control. I have him as my SP2, but you could easily make the case for him being the SP1. I will just say here that a Senga/Cabrera combo looks like very obvious chalk, and I’m not sure I love the idea of two high-variance pitchers both at high ownership. If we can find some cheaper SP2 options to like, my lean would be to just use one of them in each lineup.
