CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.

Happy Thursday! We’ve got a very slow day, with just a 4-game main slate tonight that has some threat of turning into just a 3-game slate with shaky weather in the Tigers-Guardians game. I’ll include that game in the analysis of MLB DFS picks, but at this point in the day, I don’t think we should count on it happening.

Thursday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

We have three good pitchers above the $9k mark on both sites. The slate changes dramatically if we end up losing the Tigers-Guardians game, as Tarik Skubal belongs in this top tier based on skill set and comes with a massive discount.

Zac Gallen at Padres – 26.6% K, 5.2% BB, 3.24 ERA, 3.58 SIERA
Corbin Burnes at Dodgers – 24.7% K, 9% BB ,3.60 ERA, 4.17 SIERA
Lance Lynn vs. Brewers – 27.4% K, 8.1% BB, 5.88 ERA, 3.83 SIERA

We have a very interesting top three. For the season, Zac Gallen is the best pitcher here. Over the long run, Corbin Burnes is the best pitcher. Going just by strikeout rate and matchup, Lance Lynn would jump to the top.

If we zone in on recent form, Corbin Burnes ends up getting left out in the cold a bit, with a drop in strikeouts and some sketchy control against weaker opponents. Adding in his matchup against the Dodgers, he’s going to be the odd man out here for me. By all means, feel free to include Burnes in your pool, but in looking to narrow things down, I’m passing.
