Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks for Thursday, September 19th
CheeseIsGood, a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Thursday! We’ve got a smaller slate with just a 6-game main slate beginning at 6:50 p.m. ET. There is a glaring lack of strong pitching on this slate, which is leading me to a very spread-out approach on both sides of the ledger tonight.
If you are playing the early 4-game slate at 1:05 p.m. ET, we will have some Expert Tags available in our MLB lineup optimizer, LineupHQ.

Thursday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
After a few days of loaded pitching slates, things are starting to dry up tonight. I’m not even going to separate the options into tiers, as it’s really just Yusei Kikuchi and then a tangle of mediocrity.
Yusei Kikuchi vs. Angels – 27.5% K, 6.1% BB, 4.29 ERA, 3.37 SIERA
Luis Severino vs. Phillies – 20.8% K, 7.9% BB, 3.77 ERA, 4.28 SIERA
Tobias Myers vs. Diamondbacks – 22.2% K, 6.4% BB, 3.07 ERA, 4.02 SIERA
Brandon Pfaadt at Brewers – 22.8% K, 5.6% BB, 4.81 ERA, 3.82 SIERA
Brayan Bello at Rays – 21.5% K, 9.1% BB, 4.60 ERA, 4.16 SIERA
Erick Fedde vs. Pirates – 20.8% K, 7.4% BB, 3.45 ERA, 4.28 SIERA
Zack Littell vs. Red Sox – 20.7% K, 5.1% BB, 3.73 ERA, 4.11 SIERA
Javier Assad vs. Nationals – 19.6% K, 10% BB, 3.27 ERA, 4.73 SIERA
Yusei Kikuchi is the highest-strikeout pitcher on this slate by a wide margin, and the margin has increased in the 2nd half, as he’s gone all the way up to a 30.3% K rate while maintaining his control. The Angels have a lineup filled with young bats with a lack of sample size, but this does not look like a lineup to be scared of. At just $9,900 on DK, he’s the clear SP1. On FD, $10,800 is a little more questionable, but he will still be my highest-owned pitcher.
After Kikuchi, we drop quickly into dart-throwing range…
