Happy Tuesday! We have a good-looking 10-game slate that, at first glance, appears to be fairly well balanced between hitting and pitching. My initial lean is to spend up on pitching, with five aces up top and a few more upside options in the mid-tier, but we’ll see what happens as we dig in. It’s raining at my house right now, but there are no MLB games in my yard tonight, and it looks like we are all clear on the MLB weather front.

Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have a pretty strong top tier, with the sites having some differences in the pricing based on how some of these pitchers have started the season.

TOP TIER PITCHING

We have some pretty sizeable differences in salaries between the sites. The most notable is that Shohei Ohtani is almost in his own pricing tier on DK, while FD has priced Jose Soriano all the way up to the top, with DK not pricing Soriano up as aggressively for his hot start.

In 4 starts this season, Shohei Ohtani has allowed a grand total of 1 run and has gone exactly 6 innings in each start. His strikeouts have been solid in his last couple outings, and I am viewing him on the 31.1% K rate and 5.4% walks he’s shown since the start of last season. It’s so silly how good this guy is – I still don’t really think we are appreciating nearly enough what we’re seeing with this guy. But for tonight in DFS, against the pesky Marlins, I don’t love him on DK at that salary. But on FD, where he’s in the same salary range as three other aces, he is…
