Happy Wednesday! We have a pitching-heavy 9-game slate with a bunch of aces, another cheap Mariners pitcher at home against the Rockies, and just a few offenses that are standing out at first glance. We’ll see what happens as we dig in, but my initial lean here is to spread out with the high-end pitching and keep a smaller pool of offense than usual.

The MLB weather looks likely to work out again tonight, although there are a few more yellows than usual, so be sure to check back before lock and make sure nothing has changed.

Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

Fried of the Yankees

I’m going to start with the same caveat as I started with yesterday with Bryce Miller. While I’m going to list things with the usual pricing tiers, the first decision point is going to be with the cheaper Luis Castillo at home against the Rockies. We’ll get to him shortly, but his matchup and salary make it easier to be picky with the spend-ups.

TOP TIER PITCHING

These six pitchers are the highest-priced pitchers on both sites, and all six of them are good enough to play on any slate in any matchup. But it gets interesting right away with the two high-strikeout lefties at the two highest salaries and in less than ideal matchups.

Garrett Crochet is awesome and can dominate anyone, but the Blue Jays are one of the lowest strikeout teams in the league. We’ve seen so many great starts from Crochet in all kinds of matchups that, in addition to his high pitch count in an important game, I’d still call him my top pitcher on the slate before considering salary. But rather than being heads and shoulders above everyone else like he usually is, he’s more just a guy in the mix, so let’s wait and see what else we find.
