MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Monday, April 21st

Opto% Stack

Atlanta Braves vs. Erick Fedde

The Braves stand out as a solid MLB DFS stack against Erick Fedde, who enters this matchup with glaring weaknesses. Atlanta boasts the 2nd-best optimal stack rate in projections, the 5th-best stack rating, and the 7th-best Value%, highlighting their strong combination of ceiling and value. The Braves’ implied run total of 4.97 runs further underscores their offensive upside.

Fedde’s underlying metrics are concerning—he has a poor 12% strikeout rate and a 13.3% walk rate through 4 starts, while struggling to induce ground balls or limit hard contact. Although he was more effective last season, his current form makes him highly vulnerable. Historically, Fedde has also been susceptible to left-handed power, making Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies especially appealing as core pieces of any Braves stack.

With Alex Verdugo potentially leading off at a bargain salary, the Braves offer both elite upside and strong value across formats. All signs point to Atlanta as the top offense to build around in DFS contests.

Value% Stack

Milwaukee Brewers at Robbie Ray

The Brewers are an excellent MLB DFS stack against Robbie Ray due to both Ray’s volatility and the Brewers’ strong projection metrics. Ray’s control issues create multiple avenues for stacking success: even when he’s effective, he’s prone to giving up home runs and rarely pitches deep into games. This means the Brewers can capitalize both on his mistakes and by getting into the bullpen early.

The Brewers are also backed by elite projections, ranking 6th in optimal stack rate, 7th in stack rating, and second in Value%—all strong indicators of upside and affordability. While it’s difficult to pinpoint individual batters due to Ray’s strikeout ability, the best approach is a full 4-5 man Brewers stack. This strategy leverages the potential for both power outbursts and run production, regardless of whether Ray is on his game or not.
