MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Tuesday, April 29th

Opto% Stack

Atlanta Braves at German Marquez

The Atlanta Braves are a solid MLB DFS stack against German Marquez. Sporting the best optimal stack rate in our projections and the 4th-best stack rating overall, the Braves boast an imposing implied run total of 6.43 runs. Marquez’s performance this season has been dismal, with a league-worst 9.30 ERA across 5 starts, 4 of which were away games. His struggles are evident as he strikes out only 12.2% of left-handed batters while matching walks with strikeouts. Although he holds a 46% ground ball rate against righties, his 15.4% K rate fails to offset his vulnerabilities.

The Braves’ lineup can exploit these weaknesses, focusing on left-handed hitters alongside Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna. Despite potential high ownership, the Braves may not be overwhelming chalk due to salary constraints when pairing a Jacob deGrom / Bryce Miller pitching combo with Atlanta’s key bats. Even if Marquez recovers his form, Atlanta remains the top offense.

Value% Stack

Texas Rangers vs. Jacob Lopez

The Texas Rangers are an intriguing MLB DFS stack today against Jacob Lopez. Despite their modest implied run total of 5.01 and ranking 6th in optimal stack rate, their second-best Value% underscores their potential.

Currently, the Rangers struggle with run production, ranking last in the league, despite standing 13th in ISO. Their low walk rate and higher strikeout count lead to missed scoring opportunities when extra-base hits occur. However, facing an unfamiliar matchup with Lopez, a fly ball lefty, and a likely below-average bullpen presents a favorable scenario for Texas. The Rangers’ lineup, known for hitting the ball hard and in the air, is drastically underpriced based on 2024-2025 numbers against left-handed pitchers.

Key salary savers like Jake Burger, Josh Jung, and Adolis Garcia offer appealing value, with Wyatt Langford as a top choice if the budget permits.

This team remains undervalued due to small sample size randomness, making them a smart play today as they face Lopez and his supporting bullpen.
