MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Wednesday, August 27th

Opto% Stack

Kansas City Royals at Chicago White Sox (Aaron Civale)

The Kansas City Royals are a strong MLB DFS stack option today against Aaron Civale, backed by the 2nd-best optimal stack rate, 3rd-best stack rating, and 4th-best Value% in projections, alongside an implied run total of 4.45 runs. Civale’s vulnerability to righties, evidenced by a 15% strikeout rate and .190 ISO allowed, creates an opportunity for the Royals lineup.

Key players like Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez emerge as priority targets, leveraging their power against Civale’s weaknesses. These players form the backbone of an effective stack combining power and consistency.

To complement them, Vinnie Pasquantino, Maikel Garcia, and Mike Yastrzemski add depth to stack formations, augmenting potential scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, cost-effective options such as Michael Massey and Kyle Isbel provide flexibility for lineup configuration if needed.

Value% Stack

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels (Jack Kochanowicz)

The Texas Rangers present a compelling MLB DFS stack option against Jack Kochanowicz, highlighted by the best Value% in projections and an implied run total of 4.94 runs. Following their strong performance against Yusei Kikuchi, the Rangers face an even more favorable matchup against Kochanowicz, whose struggles at the Triple-A level make the Rangers an attractive DFS play.

Kochanowicz’s low strikeout rate below 15% and walk rate over 10% to both sides of the plate, coupled with only moderate ground-ball tendencies, highlight a vulnerability that the Rangers lineup can exploit, particularly with left-handed power hitters. Joc Pederson and Rowdy Tellez are primed to capitalize, notwithstanding potential pinch-hit risks due to the Angels’ bullpen options.

In constructing stacks, prioritizing Corey Seager and Josh Smith offers solid upside, leveraging Kochanowicz’s deficiencies against lefties. Supplementary power from Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia provides depth, enhancing overall stack effectiveness.
