MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Wednesday, August 6th
Opto% Stack
San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks (Anthony Desclafani)
The San Diego Padres are a solid MLB DFS stack option against Anthony DeSclafani, backed by the 2nd-best optimal stack rate and 2nd-best stack rating in projections, along with the 5th-best Value%. With an implied run total of 5.05 runs, the Padres are strategically poised for a productive offensive outing.
DeSclafani’s current form makes him highly vulnerable, as he struggles with control over lefties and gives up power to righties. Furthermore, his inability to last beyond 4.0 innings suggests this could effectively be a bullpen game, offering additional opportunities for the Padres to capitalize.
Starting with Manny Machado, a prime target against DeSclafani’s tendencies, anchoring the lineup with key righties such as Fernando Tatis, Xander Bogaerts, and Ramon Laureano enhances the stack’s potential. Machado, in particular, stands out as a top bat on the board, providing significant upside.
The inclusion of lefties can add depth, but emphasizing right-handed strength aligns well with DeSclafani’s current vulnerabilities.

Value% Stack
Atlanta Braves vs. Milwaukee Brewers (Jose Quintana)
The Atlanta Braves offer a strong MLB DFS stack opportunity against Jose Quintana, supported by the 3rd-best optimal stack rate, 3rd-best stack rating, and 2nd-best Value% in projections. With an implied run total of 4.2 runs, the Braves are well-positioned to leverage Quintana’s recent vulnerabilities.
While Quintana has traditionally been a solid pitcher, recent trends reveal a susceptibility to home runs, particularly involving righties. This shift, along with his reduced strikeout rate of 13.7% against righties, makes the Braves’ core righties particularly appealing.
Sean Murphy stands out as a key player in this lineup, poised to exploit Quintana’s fading form. Complementing him, Marcell Ozuna and Jurickson Profar provide additional right-handed firepower, enhancing stack potential. Although Quintana displays reverse splits, the possibility remains for Matt Olson to capitalize on his power allowance to lefties in recent seasons.
