Pitcher Grind Down
- Chris Young – Young has been a tough read all season long. While his ERA and WHIP are impressive, his K/9 is only 4.3 which leaves much to be desired. This Rays’ offense has come alive during this home stand and with Young’s limited upside, he can safely be avoided tonight. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5500 FD, $9444 DS, $12300 DD, $7300 DK, $84000 FF, $17400 SS, $9900 FTD
- Erik Bedard – Bedard has a 4.08 ERA on the season with a 1.47 WHIP and a K/9 of 6.6. He is a slight favorite in a game that features a low total of only 7.5 runs. He faces a Mariners’ offense that is ranked 26th against LH pitching this season with a team .291 wOBA. I like the price and I like the matchup. Rating = 7
Salaries: $5100 FD, $11251 DS, $11950 DD, $6100 DK, $52800 FF, $13000 SS, $9800 FTD

Seattle
Mike Zunino – This Mariners’ offense really struggles against LH pitching, but Zunino has a .388 wOBA against southpaws this season and will likely move up a few spots in the order tonight.
Additional Plays: Justin Smoak
Tampa Bay
Matt Joyce – Joyce is a nice value play in the OF tonight. He has a .350 wOBA against RH pitching this season and is coming off of a big outing in last night’s game.
Additional Plays: Evan Longoria, Ben Zobrist

Pitcher Grind Down
- Trevor Bauer – In his first 4 starts of the season, Bauer has struck out 29 batters in only 23 innings of work. He owns a 3.63 ERA and looks like a viable fantasy option moving forward. That said, he is not a recommended fantasy option tonight against the Rangers in the very hitter-friendly Globe Life Park. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5300 FD, $12885 DS, $12300 DD, $8000 DK, $75200 FF, $22400 SS, $9500 FTD
- Yu Darvish – Darvish missed a start, but picked up right where he left off. He struck out 12 batters over 8 scoreless innings against the Nationals. While the Indians have been very good against RH pitching, Yu’s K/9 of 10.8 puts him in play in all leagues. Rating = 9
Salaries: $11400 FD, $25774 DS, $21250 DD, $12500 DK, $154700 FF, $33000 SS, $18900 FTD

Cleveland
There aren’t any recommended plays on the Indians tonight. Darvish has held LHB’s and RHB’s under a .290 wOBA and should draw plenty of swinging strikes again tonight.
Texas
Adrian Beltre – Beltre has been red hot during this home-stand and draws a nice matchup against Bauer who is giving up a .358 wOBA to RHB’s this season. It also doesn’t hurt that Beltre has a .359 wOBA against RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Shin-Soo Choo, Alex Rios, Mitch Moreland

Pitcher Grind Down
- Chase Whitley – Whitley continue to pitch well, but he continues to be on a very short leash. He has yet to pitch more than 5 innings and until that happens, his upside is extremely limited. I like my pitchers to pitch a little deeper into games and I’ll be avoiding Whitley for that reason alone. Rating = 5
Salaries: $4200 FD, $9551 DS, $11150 DD, $6300 DK, $71600 FF, $14300 SS, $9500 FTD
- Jeremy Guthrie – Guthrie’s struggles against LHB’s continue as he has given up a .383 wOBA to lefties this season. That does not bode well for his matchup tonight against the Yankees whose lineup is littered with LHB’s. There are better options at his price point. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5300 FD, $10285 DS, $10400 DD, $7100 DK, $66600 FF, $16000 SS, $11400 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
Jacoby Ellsbury – As mentioned above, Guthrie has always struggled against LHB’s. Ellsbury fits that mold and has always hit RH pitching well. His price is very affordable and he has a very high floor in this matchup making him a terrific cash game play.
Additional Plays: Mark Teixeira, Brett Gardner, Yangervis Solarte, Brian McCann
Kansas City
Alex Gordon – The wOBA machine likes Gordon tonight against Whitley. Gordon has a .355 wOBA against RH pitching this season and Whitley has given up a .342 wOBA to LHB’s.
Additional Plays: Eric Hosmer

Pitcher Grind Down
- Dallas Keuchel – After a slow start to the season, Keuchel has really turned things around. He has lowered his ERA to 2.70 on the season and is sporting a 1.02 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.6. He has a terrific matchup tonight against the Twins who are ranked 23rd against LH pitching with a 23.9% K-rate. I love the upside here and think he makes a terrific tournament play. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7700 FD, $20799 DS, $17500 DD, $9900 DK, $113400 FF, $28100 SS, $12500 FTD
- Phil Hughes – Hughes’ comeback tour continues tonight against the Astros. Hughes has a 3.12 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.3. While the Astros have some talented rookies in their lineup, they are still ranked 19th against RH pitching with a 23.3% K-rate. I’ve been talking up Hughes for a while now and will continue to target him on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 8
Salaries: $6600 FD, $18166 DS, $14200 DD, $10100 DK, $108600 FF, $27200 SS, $13000 FTD

Houston
George Springer – Springer is in play tonight thanks to his multi-HR type of upside. He has a .373 wOBA against RH pitching this season and offers nice upside as a tournament play.
Additional Plays: Jon Singleton
Minnesota
Brian Dozier – Dozier hasn’t hit for a high batting average this season, but there are few 2B options with as much upside as Dozier. He has nice power, nice speed, and has hit LH pitching well this season.
Additional Plays: Josh Willingham

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hyun-Jin Ryu – Ryu has a 3.01 ERA on the season with a 1.22 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.9. Now throw all of that out the window. He has to pitch in Coors Field tonight which is a pitcher’s worst nightmare. As always, I’ll be avoiding all pitchers in Coors. Rating = 4
Salaries: $8200 FD, $17036 DS, $13050 DD, $8600 DK, $102900 FF, $23100 SS, $16000 FTD
- Eddie Butler – Butler will be making his first career start tonight. Butler is a highly touted prospect, but I like to avoid experienced pitchers in Coors and I’ll be avoiding Butler tonight. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5500 FD, $11333 DS, $8150 DD, $5000 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – As always, there are plenty of viable fantasy options in Coors. Gonzalez gets top honors though as he has a .404 wOBA against RH pitching this season.
Additional Plays: Dee Gordon, Yasiel Puig, Hanley Ramirez
Colorado
Troy Tulowitzki – Take Tulo at home, take Tulo at home, take Tulo at home. His impressive play at home has continued during this home-stand and I think he keeps it going tonight against the LHP Ryu. Fade him at your own risk.
Additional Plays: Michael Cuddyer, Drew Stubbs, Wilin Rosario, Brandon Barnes
