Pitcher Grind Down
Justin Masterson – After giving up 5 earned runs in back to back games, Masterson has bounced back nicely in his last two starts by only giving up 2 earned runs in each. His ERA and WHIP are both up this season, but his K-rate is still just over 9 per 9 innings pitched. While he will be facing a red hot Angels lineup, I do think he makes a nice tournament play thanks to his high K-rate. The best batters on the Angels hit from the right side of the plate and Masterson held RH batters to a .245 wOBA last season. He is my GPP special tonight. Rating = 6
Tyler Skaggs – Skaggs has been a nice fit in this Angels’ rotation. Through his first 4 starts he has a 3.21 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and a K/9 of 5.1. He has limited upside thanks to his low K-rate and I don’t love the matchup against the Indians who hit LH pitching well even despite having LH batters littered throughout their lineup. I think his line will finish something in the range of 5 IP’s and a few earned runs allowed. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
Michael Brantley – Even though Brantley bats from the left side of the plate, he is a nice play tonight against the LH pitcher Skaggs. Brantley has a higher batting average and OPS against LH pitching this season and Skaggs gave up over a .300 wOBA to LH batters last season.
Additional Plays: Jason Kipnis
L.A. Angels
Raul Ibanez – Ibanez is obviously only in play if he is in the lineup, but I would imagine the Angels would start him tonight against Masterson who struggles against LH batters. Ibanez doesn’t hit for a high average, but he still has a good amount of power against RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Mike Trout, Albert Pujols

Pitcher Grind Down
Tyson Ross – The total for this game is the lowest run total on the schedule tonight. Both of these pitchers are high-caliber pitchers and both should have nice outings tonight. Ross has a 3.18 ERA this season with a 1.35 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.1. He has typically struggled away from Petco Park, but AT&T Park is a very pitcher-friendly ballpark as well. He may have a hard time picking up a win here which hurts his cash game value, but he has tremendous value as an upside play in a GPP. Rating = 7
Madison Bumgarner – Even though there are only 7 games on the schedule, we have 3 aces on the mound with excellent matchups. On a site like FanDuel that only allows 1 SP, it’s going to be very hard to choose between Darvish, Wacha, and Bumgarner. Bumgarner has given up a lot of hits this season and has a 1.67 WHIP, but he will get that number down as the season goes on. The Padres have scored the fewest runs of any team this season and Bumgarner has been close to unhittable at AT&T Park throughout his career. While I also love Darvish and Wacha tonight, I’m giving Bumgarner the highest rating. Rating = 10

San Diego
- Not only is this Padres team in a 3-week slump, but they are facing a pitcher that posted a 2.33 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP at home last season. Avoid all Padres’ bats tonight.
San Francisco
Brandon Belt – Belt has struck out 23 times with only 14 hits against RH pitching this season, but those hits have been good ones. He has 5 HR’s and 2 doubles off of RH pitching. Belt makes a nice upside play for GPP’s tonight.
Additional Plays: Angel Pagan
