Pitcher Grind Down
Brad Peacock – Peacock will be making his first start of the season due to Harrell being designated for assignment. Being Beat out by Harrell to start the season, it is clear that Peacock does not have good stuff. He has struggled pitching out of the bullpen giving up a 6.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in 9.2 innings. Peacock is a huge underdog and should be avoided. Rating = 2
Jesse Chavez – Jesse Chavez has had Ace like stuff to the year in his first 3 games. He has 22 strike outs in those 3 games while sporting a 1.32 ERA. He has the best matchup on the board and the A’s are the heaviest favorite of the day. He makes a great cash and GPP play today. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
Houston
Avoid Houston bats today in what could be a K fest.
Oakland
Brandon Moss – Moss is one of my favorite players to take as I feel he rarely throws up a 0 when he gets a RH pitching matchup. He has that today in Peacock who allowed lefties to hit .281 against him last year. Moss has come through with runners in scoring position this year and should be in that position again today.
- Additional Plays: Coco Crisp Jed Lowrie John Jaso

Pitcher Grind Down
“Roberto Hernandez and Juan Nicasio – If you are taking a pitcher in Coors, you are trying to go contrarian. I would do it somewhere else.
Batter Grind Down
Philadelphia
Ryan Howard – Howard is a true boom or bust play today. Nicasio has strikeout potential so Howard could go 0 for 4 with a few K’s, but he could also snag one and hit it out of the park. He is the cheapest of the 3 Philly lefties and has shown that he continues to have the power this year.
- Additional Plays: Chase Utley Jimmy Rollins Carlos Ruiz
Colorado
Charlie Blackmon – Blackmon is much cheaper than Tulo and Cargo and has been an on-base machine of late. He is hitting .415 with 10 RBIs and 5 stolen bases. He does it all in this offense and has a great matchup against Hernandez today.
- Additional Plays: Carlos Gonzalez Justin Morneau

Pitcher Grind Down
Josh Collmenter – Collmenter is a long reliever trying to make the in-season switch to starter. He is slowly making this transition and will most likely continue to be a pitch count today. He has very limited upside and could be pulled prior to the 5th if his pitch count gets to high. Rating = 3
Josh Beckett – Beckett gets a great matchup against the struggling Diamondbacks, but is still tough to trust this early in the season. He comes into the game with a 4.00 ERA and 9 strikeouts in 9 innings of play. He walked 5 batters last game which is a bit worry some, but only surrendered two hits. He could make for a cheap third option, but it is risky. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
Arizona
Paul Goldschmidt – Goldy is in play against any non-elite pitchers this year. Last year he became one of the best hitters in baseball and it has carried over with him. He is hitting .303 and has his 3 home runs so far against RH pitching.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – Gonzo is on fire right now hitting .326 against RH pitching with 4 of his 5 home runs too. He makes a great cash and GPP play today.
- Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez Dee Gordon

Pitcher Grind Down
Tim Lincecum – The decline of Lincecum has been interesting to watch over the last few years. He continues to rack up the strikeouts, but cannot seem to keep guys off base either. He does have good matchup in a game with a low total. He still could K 10 and give up 1 earned run, but I am not sure if we will see that today. Rating = 5
Robbie Erlin – Robbie has made two starts this season and has a .97 WHIP and 14 strikeouts to show for it. If he can continue that K/9 rate he could make for an interesting GPP play. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
San Francisco
Buster Posey – The lefty matchup makes Posey in play, but the park may stop me from paying for the highest priced catcher today.
- Additional Plays: Angel Pagan
San Diego
Chase Headley – BvP play of the day is Headley as he is 12/44 with 4 bombs off the Freak.
- Additional Plays: Will Venable

Pitcher Grind Down
Ubaldo Jimenez – Ubaldo is 0-3 on the season so far and has clearly not been the guy Baltimore wanted. He sports a 7.31 ERA and has given up 23 hits already this season. The game has a high total and Ubaldo may be the reason for it. Rating = 3
Jake Peavy – Peavy has looked great this year giving up less than 2 earned runs in all 3 of his starts so far. Baltimore will be his toughest matchup yet, but his 9.64 K/9 this season makes him a great GPP play. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
Matt Wieters – Wieters has began the season as one of the most consistent catchers for DFS. He is batting .314 on the year and is hitting righties for a ridiculous .351.
- Additional Plays: Chris Davis
Boston
David Ortiz – Big Papi is always in play against RH pitching and tonight will get Jimenez who already has given up 4 home runs. I expect this Boston team to add to that total and Ortiz could be the culprit.
- Additional Plays: *Mike Napoli Dustin Pedroia Grady Sizemore
