Pitcher Grind Down
- Yu Darvish – Darvish has continued his dominance of the league recently against some of the best offenses. Against the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Tigers, Darvish allowed only 4 earned runs while striking out 29 batters. He is said to be on no pitching limit and is very well rested due to some neck issues earlier in the week which made him miss his last start. His 10.42 K/9 makes a great play against any team, and a very good play today against the Nationals. Rating = 8
Salaries: $11000 FD, $23987 DS, $20800 DD, $11500 DK, $132000 FF, $32400 SS, $18800 FTD
- Tanner Roark – Roark has been two different pitchers so far this year. Away from home, Roark has a 5.65 ERA, while at home, in 5 starts, he has been exceptional putting up a 1.60 ERA and only allowing hitters a .205 BA against him. He is not going to strikeout a ton of batters, but could make for a good 2nd starter if he is cheap today. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6300 FD, $11716 DS, $14700 DD, $6800 DK, $96800 FF, $19500 SS, $11600 FTD

Texas
Mitch Moreland – Moreland continues to hit in the 3 spot due to the injuries on this Rangers team. His price is cheap and does have home run potential against Roark who has given up 6 on the season with 5 being against LH hitters.
Additional Plays: *Shin-Soo Choo
Washington
Darvish on extra rest means I will not be using any Nationals players today.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jon Niese – Niese comes into this game with a 2.74 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP on the season. He is not a starter that is going to win you many GPPs as he consistently gives up 2-3 earned runs and strikes out at a low rate (6.50 K/9). Niese does have a decent matchup against the lefty heavy Phillies today that he has pitched well against in the past (.228 team average against him). Rating = 6
Salaries: $6500 FD, $15678 DS, $12200 DD, $7300 DK, $76600 FF, $20900 SS, $13200 FTD
- Cole Hamels – Hamels has been very hit or miss this year since getting a late start due to injury. He has 2 gems of 1 earned run with 10 K’s, but has given up 20 earned runs in his other 5 starts. In his most recent start against the Mets, he showed flashes of old Hamels and could be dominant again today as a favorite in a game with a 7 O/U. Due to the fluctuation at this point with Hamels, he is a GPP only start for me. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8300 FD, $18725 DS, $16400 DD, $8400 DK, $90700 FF, $23800 SS, $12500 FTD

NY Mets
David Wright – Hamels has always struggled against Wright regardless of where they are playing. Wright is 23/70 with 5 home runs against Hamels lifetime and if bad Hamels shows up, Wright should have a lot to do with it.
Additional Plays: Daniel Murphy
Philadelphia
Marlon Byrd- Niese allows a .333 wOBA against RH hats and Byrd has taken him yard in the past.
Additional Plays: Carlos Ruiz

Pitcher Grind Down
- Wei-Yin Chen – Chen has not looked good in his last 2 starts where he has allowed 10 earned runs and 4 total home runs. This has raised his ERA to 4.50 and his WHIP to 1.41. He does have a good matchup today against the Astros, but due to recent struggles, is a GPP only play. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5700 FD, $15762 DS, $12400 DD, $6000 DK, $77400 FF, $15600 SS, $12200 FTD
- Scott Feldman – Feldman has been nothing special for the Astros this year, but has kept his ERA down to 3.02. The fact that he has struggled to get batters to swing and miss this year really depresses any fantasy value he has (4.15 K/9). He is also an underdog against an offense that has the ability to run up the score. I am avoiding Feldman today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5400 FD, $9364 DS, $9600 DD, $5600 DK, $75400 FF, $15100 SS, $11200 FTD

Baltimore
Chris Davis – Any time the Orioles get an average RH pitcher, Crush is in play. He is on a rough stretch in the last week, but always has double bomb potential.
Additional Plays: Nick Markakis Nelson Cruz
Houston
Jose Altuve – Altuve continues to be one of the most consistent bats for this Astros team. Chen has a wOBA of .334 against righties and Altuve has crushed LH pitching this year (.426 AVG and 1.027 OPS).
Additional Plays: Dexter Fowler

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jeff Samardzija – Poor Samardzija just got his first win on the season. It must be tough to know that your 1.68 season ERA is going to complete waste as a Cub. He has been fantastic on the season and will look to continue his great year against the Brewers. His strikeout potential puts him in play regardless of opponent, but the fact that wins are so hard to come by hurts his fantasy value at sites that are so win dependent. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8300 FD, $17543 DS, $17550 DD, $8600 DK, $97300 FF, $25800 SS, $13500 FTD
- Kyle Lohse – Lohse has not been dominant like Samardzija, but has put together a nice start of the season for the Brewers. He comes into this game with a 2.92 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. He gets a matchup against the punchless Cubs today who have actually had some good success against him. They have a .274 team average, but I still think he could come in and shut this offense down today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $6500 FD, $17115 DS, $14450 DD, $7900 DK, $98200 FF, $24300 SS, $13500 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Chicago Cubs
Anthony Rizzo – Lohse does allow lefties to hit well against him (.323 wOBA) and Rizzo is 9/19 against Lohse in his career.
Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – Braun will be tough to pay up for due to the recent performances of Samardzija, but has hit him well in the past (7/16 2 home runs). Braun makes a sneaky good GPP play and not a whole lot of people will be on him and can always be the highest scoring player on any given day.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Eric Stults – Stults has not been good this year at or away from Petco. He has a 4.92 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP and has struck out only 26 batters in 56.2 innings. He is not in play in any type of format today against the White Sox.
Salaries: $5400 FD, $8010 DS, $10550 DD, $5500 DK, $48800 FF, $13000 SS, $10500 FTD
- Chris Sale – Sale has been on fire since coming back from the DL 2 starts ago. He had his last start cut short, but has only allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 14 batters in 9 innings. He gets the best matchup on the board today against the Padres and is the biggest favorite on the board today. He is my top pitching option. Rating = 10
Salaries: $9200 FD, $24474 DS, $22150 DD, $11600 DK, $137400 FF, $32400 SS, $16900 FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Diego
Avoid the Padres bats today as Sale should rack up the strikeouts.
Chicago White Sox
Dayan Viciedo – Tank usually moves up in the order when a lefty pitcher faces the White Sox. He has hit them well this year for a .304 AVG and Stults has struggled mightily against righties giving up a .350 wOBA on the year.
Additional Plays: Alexei Ramirez Gordon Beckham Paul Konerko
