Pitcher Grind Down
- Yohan Pino – I try to make a habit of not taking pitchers against the A’s and I’m going to stick with that tonight. Pino owns an ERA over 6.00 and the A’s draw more walks than any team in baseball. They make pitchers work and I have a hard time seeing Pino having a good outing tonight. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5500 FD, $10800 DD, $5900 DK, $62500 FF, $15000 SS, $10800 FTD
- Jon Lester – Lester is the biggest favorite on the schedule tonight and it’s not even close. He’s currently listed as a -270 favorite so if you play on a site that heavily weighs the win for a starting pitcher, Lester is an easy play tonight. He has a pretty decent matchup against the Twins who are ranked 18th in wOBA vs. LH pitching with a 21.3% strikeout rate. Rating = 8.5
Salaries: $9800 FD, $20100 DD, $11000 DK, $134700 FF, $30200 SS, $20100 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Minnesota
Avoid all Twins tonight against Lester.
Oakland
Josh Reddick – Reddick is red hot right now. He has 15 hits (6 XBH’s) over his last 10 games and draws a great matchup against Pino who has given up a .358 wOBA to LH hitters this season.
Additional Plays: John Jaso, Brandon Moss, Stephen Vogt
LA Dodgers at LA Angels

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hyun-Jin Ryu – Ryu is one of the better lefties in the National League, but faces an Angels lineup that feasts on LH pitching. The Angels are ranked 2nd in wOBA vs. LH pitching this season which is more than enough for me to avoid Ryu tonight. Rating = 5
Salaries: $8300 FD, $17600 DD, $9300 DK, $122400 FF, $26300 SS, $17600 FTD
- C.J. Wilson – Wilson was rocked in his first start back. He gave up 6 earned runs in only 1 and 1/3 innings. Until he finds better form, he can safely be avoided in all league formats, even at his discounted price. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6900 FD, $13150 DD, $6300 DK, $40000 FF, $19600 SS, $13150 FTD

LA Dodgers
Matt Kemp – Since the start of June, Kemp has a wOBA over .380. He’s really seeing the ball well right now and draws a nice matchup against Wilson who was rocked in his last start.
Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig, Dee Gordon
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Trout was a big bust last night in a great matchup against Haren, but I expect him to bounce back nicely tonight against Ryu. Trout crushes LH pitching and should be considered the top OF play on the board.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols
Chicago White Sox at Seattle

Pitcher Grind Down
- Scott Carroll – Carroll has shown up at times this season, but he’s extremely inconsistent. I don’t mind the matchup against the Mariners, but I think there are safer plays for cash games and better upside plays for GPP’s. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5500 FD, $10550 DD, $5800 DK, $56600 FF, $13600 SS, $NA FTD
- Roenis Elias – Elias has pitched well in each of his last 3 starts. He owns a 4.19 ERA (3.82 xFIP) and a K/9 of 8.2. He’s getting a lot of love from Vegas as a -180 favorite in a game that features a low run total. He’s a perfect #2 or #3 pitcher to use on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 7
Salaries: $6500 FD, $12800 DD, $7500 DK, $83200 FF, $22200 SS, $12800 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Chicago White Sox
There aren’t any plays that stand out here. Jose Abreu is worth a look in GPP’s, but I’ll be avoiding the White Sox in cash games.
Seattle
Kyle Seager – Seager has been terrific against RH pitching (.384 wOBA) and great at home (.444 wOBA). Tonight he faces Carroll who has given up a .370 wOBA to LH hitters.
Additional Plays: Robinson Cano, Logan Morrison, Chris Taylor
