Pitcher Grind Down
Mat Latos : FD: $6,200 — DK: $7,300
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 210.0 — SIERA: 3.99 — ERA: 4.03 — K%: 19.0% — BB%: 6.5% — HR/9: 0.8
Last 30 Days: IP: 19.1 — SIERA: 4.20 — ERA: 6.05 — K%: 15.5% — BB%: 7.1% — HR/9: 0.9
San Diego Padres Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.300 (Rank: 26) — Strikeout Rate: 21.4% (Rank: 23)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.333 (Rank: 9) — Strikeout Rate: 19.3% (Rank: 12)
Pitches per PA: 3.83 (Rank: 13)
Analysis: Latos hasn’t been in the best of form recently, but the perfect cure for the pitching blues. Tonight he gets to face the strikeout-happy Padres in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park. Latos is cheap and he is a small favorite tonight in a game that features a low total of 7.0 runs. Latos makes a great SP2 on multi-pitcher sites and he’s not the worst play on single-pitcher sites if you are looking to stack the game in Coors Field.
Pitcher Rating: 69.5
Colin Rea : FD: $5,000 — DK: $6,000
Pitching Stats:
2014 – 2015: IP: 19.2 — SIERA: 3.87 — ERA: 5.95 — K%: 18.4% — BB%: 6.9% — HR/9: 0.9
Los Angeles Dodgers Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.322 (Rank: 3) — Strikeout Rate: 20.5% (Rank: 19)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.260 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 23.5% (Rank: 23)
Pitches per PA: 3.89 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Rea is off to a decent start in his major league career. In his first 19 innings of work, he has a 3.87 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.4%. While he is very cheap tonight, he draws a tough matchup against the Dodgers, who have the third-highest team wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Mat Latos is the preferred target in this one.
Pitcher Rating: 62.8

LA Dodgers
The Dodgers draw a decent matchup tonight against Colin Rea tonight, but they have to face him in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park. Rea has reverse splits this season, but it’s hard to trust them with a sample size of only 19 innings. I still give the edge to the left-handed hitters in this matchup.

San Diego
The Padres have one of the lowest team totals on the board tonight, as they square off against Mat Latos, who has held both left and right-handed hitters under a .305 wOBA over the last two seasons. Cory Spangenberg could be a nice value play if he is batting at the top of the lineup, but the rest of the Padres can be avoided.
