Happy Tuesday! Major League Baseball has 15 games on tap for this evening, beginning at 6:35 p.m. ET with the Cubs against the Orioles.
The extreme heat appears to finally be behind us, with the forecast temperatures dropping back into the 80s around the league to begin the early part of this week. In San Francisco, the forecast temperature at first pitch this evening is less than 60 degrees! As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Tuesday, July 7th!
Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, July 7th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Tuesday, July 7th:
- Tarik Skubal Over/Under 18.5 Outs Recorded
- Jacob DeGrom Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Juan Soto Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Tarik Skubal UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-140, Caesars)
Since returning from the injured list, Detroit has been cautious with Skubal. In 4 starts, he’s faced 22 batters or fewer 3 times. Only once in that stretch has he thrown more than 87 pitches. The Athletics are an aggressive offense, but they don’t make a tremendous amount of contact. The likely result of that is more deep counts and a reduced opportunity for Skubal to pitch deep into this contest. The Tigers also have a fully rested arm barn following a day off Monday and minimal bullpen usage over the weekend. This feels like a 6-and-dive spot for Skubal unless he’s incredibly efficient.
Jacob deGrom OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-223, Novig)
During June, deGrom posted a 2.57 xERA, 2.36 FIP, and 0.97 WHIP. He missed plenty of bats and consistently worked ahead in counts. Consequently, he completed at least 6 innings in 5 of his 6 outings during that stretch. Texas has been willing to let him work a little bit deeper into games of late, allowing him to throw 106 pitches on June 19th and 90+ pitches in 4 consecutive outings. The Angels are one of the league’s most aggressive offenses, which should lead to some quick outs this evening.
Juan Soto OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, BetMGM)
Soto had a heroic home run for the Mets in the 9th inning yesterday as he continued his torrid stretch. Since June 17th, he has a 215 wRC+ and is hitting .346 with 4 home runs. Tonight, he will get to face Seth Lugo, who struggled to a 1.52 WHIP and allowed a .295 batting average across the platoon in 2026. This is good value for one of the best hitters in baseball.
