MLB Player Props Today
- Pablo Lopez u17.5 outs recorded
- Hunter Greene u17.5 outs recorded
- Masataka Yoshida less than 0.5 hitter strikeouts
Pablo Lopez u17.5 outs recorded (+145), Bet365
Pablo Lopez has been good, but not great to begin 2023 – posting a 3.47 ERA, 3.38 xERA, and a 3.26 FIP through his first eight turns in the rotation. Still, entering play on Monday, Lopez has recorded at least 18 outs in six of his last seven starts. The caveat is that tonight, he will have to contend with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which rank fourth in OPS, first in ISO, third in line-drive rate, and have swung at the fourth-fewest pitches outside of the strike zone across the last two weeks of action. Lopez is unlikely to find many efficient outs in this lineup tonight. At significant plus-money, this is worth a small stab for bettors.
Hunter Greene u17.5 outs recorded (-135), Caesars
Simply, this market number makes very little sense. Dating back to the beginning of last year, Hunter Greene has recorded 18 or more outs in only 11 of 32 starts. This evening, he has a difficult matchup at Coors Field, a place where pitchers are infamously at a disadvantage due to the altitude. Greene, already a pitcher who lacks a consistent third offering and has minimal movement on his fastball, figures to struggle in this environment on Monday night against a Colorado Rockies offense that ranks ninth in OPS and ninth in strikeout rate in their home ballpark in 2023. Take the under here.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Masataka Yoshida less than 0.5 hitter strikeouts, PrizePicks
We targeted this look on Sunday night, and ended up being successful, so we might as well run things back again on Monday. Entering play, Masataka Yoshida has struck out in only 10.0% of his plate appearances this season. Somehow, Yoshida had fallen victim to a strikeout in three of his prior four games before yesterday’s contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. Simply, we are taking advantage of some regression to the mean in this spot with an extremely disciplined, high-contact hitter. Yoshida will face George Kirby tonight, who has an unimpressive 22.4% strikeout rate against left-handed batters in 2023. Expect Yoshida to find a way to put the ball in play each time he steps in the batter’s box this evening.
