MLB Player Props Today

Tyler Glasnow o7.5 Strikeouts (-150), FanDuel

Since June 15, the Kansas City Royals rank 27th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching. During that time, 17 of the 23 opposing pitchers to face the Royals have hit the over on their pre-game strikeout prop, according to props.cash. Right-handed starting pitchers are 13-for-17 to the over during that time period. Entering play on Friday, Glasnow has at least eight strikeouts in three consecutive turns through the rotation. He hasn’t pitched in seven days, meaning that he should be good for 90 to 95 pitches in this spot – trust him to get the job done in an extremely favorable matchup.

Masataka Yoshida u0.5 Strikeouts (-130), DraftKings

As the season has progressed, this play has rarely been offered at PrizePicks, so we are using a different slot in this article today to fit in this recommendation. During the first half of the campaign, Masataka Yoshida ranked in the 99th percentile in strikeout rate among qualified hitters, striking out in only 10.7% of his plate appearances. Tonight, he gets a dream matchup against Kyle Hendricks, who struck out only 14.7% of the left-handed batters he faced prior to the All-Star break. Expect Yoshida to have little trouble avoiding a strikeout in the early portion of this contest. We will take our chances with him against the Chicago Cubs bullpen.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Jose Ramirez less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Jose Ramirez is having a superb season from a contact perspective, having struck out in only 9.9% of his plate appearances. Tonight, he will face Jon Gray, who has struck out only 19.9% of the left-handed batters he has faced in 2023. Since June 18, Gray has a pedestrian 13.2% strikeout rate overall, with his swinging-strike rate plummeting to single digits. Ramirez should have little trouble putting the ball in play against Gray in this matchup. Trust him to avoid a strikeout in the late innings against the Texas Rangers arm barn to seal the deal here.
