Happy Memorial Day! Today’s MLB slate began earlier this morning with a matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Baltimore Orioles. Still, there are five games part of this evening’s slate, with all of those contests beginning at 5:05 p.m. EST or later.
We went 1-5 yesterday, but we are still 32-14-2 across our last 15 posts. During the month of May, we are 55-29-4 on non-Home Run props. We are now 59-26-1 on pitcher prop recommendations for the season. There is plenty of opportunity once again on the player prop market today – below are three prop leans for May 29!

MLB Player Props Today
- JP Crawford o1.5 total bases
- Paul Blackburn o4.5 hits allowed
- Michael Kopech less than 17.5 pitching outs
JP Crawford o1.5 total bases (+150), BetMGM
According to props.cash, JP Crawford has only eclipsed this market number in 18 of 51 games played in 2023. However, he has managed to record multiple total bases in six of his last 10 home games and tonight gets another favorable matchup against Domingo German, who has struggled to a 4.50 FIP against left-handed batters so far this season. Factor in that the New York Yankees are traveling across the country for this game and Crawford may have even more of an advantage against a defense with tired legs. Take a small stab on the over here.
Paul Blackburn o4.5 hits allowed (-160), BetMGM
Paul Blackburn is back on the mound in the Major Leagues…no really. From 2018 to 2022, Blackburn posted a 5.66 ERA, 4.51 FIP, 1.42 WHIP, and a .284 opponent batting average across 190.2 innings of work. In 2022, Blackburn allowed at least four hits in 16 of his 21 starts. He allowed at least five hits in 13 of his 21 trips to the hill. Beginning 2023 in the minor leagues, Blackburn allowed at least five hits in all but one of his six outings. His 7.50 ERA, 2.17 WHIP, 11.1% strikeout percentage, 6.7% walk rate, and .393 opponent batting average against inferior competition offer little hope that he will turn in a strong showing against the Atlanta Braves on Monday – a team that ranks 10th in OPS and 9th in ISO against right-handed pitching since May 1. There is some risk here, due to Atlanta having to travel across the country after playing on Sunday Night Baseball. Nevertheless, it’s Paul Blackburn we are talking about here. Take the over.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Michael Kopech less than 17.5 pitching outs, PrizePicks
During the month of May, Michael Kopech has eclipsed this market number four times in five turns through the rotation. However, he recorded 18+ outs against the Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Guardians – which rank 13th, 18th, 20th, and 30th, respectively, in OPS against right-handed pitching since May 1. On Monday, he will have to contend with a Los Angeles Angels lineup that ranks 9th in OPS and 15th in ISO across the last four weeks of baseball. Expect the Angels to make life difficult on Kopech in this spot, forcing manager Pedro Grifol to go to the bullpen earlier than he would like to on Memorial Day.
