Yesterday, MLB fans witnessed one of the most thrilling (non-walk-off) finishes to a baseball game in recent history in Atlanta. Today, there are two more MLB postseason games on tap, and both have the potential to deliver more exciting moments. The action begins in Minnesota at 4:07 p.m. ET and will finish in Texas this evening with a matchup between the Orioles and Rangers.
During the regular season, we went 103-63-6 (62.6%) across our last 172 recommendations in this article. We were 120-59 (67.2%) on pitcher prop recommendations.

MLB Player Props Today
- Nathan Eovaldi u4.5 Strikeouts
- Sonny Gray u15.5 Outs Recorded
- Cristian Javier + Sonny Gray Less Than 0.5 1st Inning Runs Allowed
Nathan Eovaldi u4.5 Strikeouts (-116), FanDuel
In his lone start during the Wild Card round, Nathan Eovaldi was dominant, allowing only one run across 6.2 innings of work while striking-out eight batters. However, he still generated only three whiffs with his 4-seam fastball, and his other three offerings generated zero swings and misses when located in the strike zone. Following his return from the injured list in September, Eovaldi generated fewer swings at pitches outside of the zone and allowed more contact on pitches inside the zone – not a recipe for success. The larger body of work we have on Eovaldi across the last month suggests that his performance against Tampa Bay is likely to be an outlier. Facing a much better Baltimore offense on Tuesday, five strikeouts is a tall order.
Sonny Gray u15.5 Outs Recorded (-156), FanDuel
Facing the Blue Jays in the Wild Card round, Sonny Gray allowed no runs on five hits across five scoreless innings before handing things over to Minnesota’s deep bullpen. Heading into Game 3, Gray is once again positioned for a shorter outing, considering how well-rested the Twins’ arm barn is entering play. Only Brock Stewart and Jhoan Duran were asked to appear on Sunday in Game 2. Across the last three days, no member of the Twins’ relief corps has thrown more than 22 pitches, and all of the high-leverage options for manager Rocco Baldelli have thrown 18 pitches or fewer in that span. Even if Gray pitches well, five innings could be the limit for him in this spot.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Cristian Javier + Sonny Gray Less Than 0.5 1st Inning Runs Allowed, PrizePicks
Looking at the forecast, the temperature will be below 60 degrees at first pitch today in Minnesota. Cristian Javier is an extreme fly ball pitcher, but should benefit from the cold weather and the fact that Target Field is a pitcher-friendly venue for afternoon contests. Sonny Gray has been dominant at home this season with a 2.60 FIP and a 1.11 WHIP. He should be able to get through the opening frame unscathed in Game 3.
