In 34 games to begin his big league career, Luis Matos has struck out in only 9.8% of his total plate appearances. Facing southpaws, Matos has been even more contact-oriented, striking out in only 4.9% of his plate appearances. Tonight, Matos gets a favorable matchup against left-hander Hogan Harris, who ranks in the 29th percentile in strikeout percentage and the 3rd percentile in chase rate among qualified starters. Trust Matos to put the ball in play each time he makes his way to the plate this evening.
Masataka Yoshida u0.5 Strikeouts (+120), DraftKings
Yes, Masataka Yoshida is facing Spencer Strider tonight, but plus-money for a guy who ranks in the 97th percentile in strikeout rate and the 90th percentile in whiff% is something that is hard to pass up. Strider has been outstanding, in terms of strikeouts, in 2023, but Yoshida is still going to be a tough punch-out for him on Wednesday night. Yoshida is 6-for-14 at the plate with only one strikeout across his last three games, indicating that he is seeing the ball well. This is a worthwhile stab for bettors in this spot.

Alex Bregman less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Alex Bregman has been a contact machine against left-handed pitching in 2023, striking out in only 6.3% of his total plate appearances. Andrew Heaney has been good, but not great, across the last two months – posting a 4.47 ERA, 5.11 FIP, and a 22.2% strikeout rate during his last 11 turns through the rotation. Bregman is positioned well to avoid going down on strikes in this matchup – this is a strong look for today’s slate.
