Happy Wednesday! Today’s 15-game MLB slate began earlier this afternoon with a battle between the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves. Still, there is plenty of action left to get underway as of this writing, giving the betting community plenty of time to get their action locked in for this evening.

MLB Player Props Today
- Josh Jung o1.5 Total Bases
- Shohei Ohtani u1.5 Total Bases
- Adley Rutschman less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts
Josh Jung o1.5 Total Bases (+110), BetMGM
Josh Jung has put together a sensational 2023 campaign to this point. Much of his success has come against southpaws, against which he owns a .333 batting average, 1.007 OPS, and a 177 wRC+. Tonight, Jung will face Joey Wentz, who has struggled mightily against both right- and left-handed hitters so far this season. In a favorable matchup, the over on Jung’s total bases is a great look at plus money.
Shohei Ohtani u1.5 Total Bases (-150), DraftKings
Shohei Ohtani is the talk of the baseball world right now, but that does not mean he will secure two or more total bases in tonight’s matchup. If Ohtani has one discernable (relative) weakness at the plate, it is against offspeed offerings, which Lucas Giolito throws roughly 30% of the time against left-handed batters. On the year, has a .231 batting average and a .569 slugging percentage against offspeed offerings from right-handed pitchers, which is, by far, his worst offensive profile against any pitch type. Giolito has allowed only four extra-base hits this season to left-handed batters when throwing his changeup. The under is a worthwhile consideration in this spot for bettors.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Adley Rutschman less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Entering play on Wednesday night, Adley Rutschman owns a 14.3% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this year. Overall, Rutschman ranks in the 90th percentile in strikeout percentage among qualified MLB hitters. This evening, Rutschman gets a favorable matchup against Luke Weaver, who has struck out only 14.8% of the left-handed batters that he has faced so far in 2023. It would be surprising to see Rutschman strike out during the early portion of this contest. We will trust him to find a way to put the ball in play in the late innings as well.
