Thursday’s MLB slate features only 4 games, but fans won’t be short on entertainment options, with names like Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, and MacKenzie Gore scheduled to be on the bump for their respective teams.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat or unlucky if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, May 29th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:45 PM ET on Thursday, May 29th:
- MacKenzie Gore Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Julio Rodriguez Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
MacKenzie Gore UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-106, Caesars)
During the last month of action, Gore has been one of the least efficient pitchers in baseball, averaging 4.26 pitches per batter faced. He’s also struggled with traffic on the basepaths, with a 1.39 WHIP. This evening, he will have to contend with a Seattle lineup that ranks 5th in wRC+ against left-handed pitching during the last 14 days. It could be a short night for Gore on the bump.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-145, BetMGM)
Last night, Guerrero continued his strong month of May, collecting a pair of hits against the Rangers. This month, Guerrero is hitting .293 and owns a 148 wRC+. He has 4 home runs, 9 RBIs, and he has scored 18 runs in his last 25 games. Tonight, he gets to face Jacob Lopez, who has allowed a lot of traffic on the basepaths in a limited MLB sample in 2025. Bo Bichette should be back in the lineup tonight as well, which should give Guerrero a better chance to drive in a run. There is once again value on the over at this number.
Julio Rodriguez OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105, BetMGM)
Rodriguez went hitless yesterday in 4 at-bats, but he gets a more favorable matchup tonight against a southpaw, MacKenzie Gore. This season, Rodriguez has an .825 OPS and 135 wRC+ against southpaws compared to a .701 OPS and 108 wRC+ against same-sided pitching. Vote has allowed a lot of hard contact in the air of late, which also makes him slightly vulnerable to allowing a home run. Rodriguez is positioned to have a productive night at the dish.
