Friday’s 15-game MLB slate will kick off the weekend with a trio of contests at 6:40 p.m. EST. Arguably the most marquee matchup of today’s action on the diamond will feature Justin Verlander and the New York Mets against Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres.

Since we began posting this article, we have had 13 near misses, five cashed tickets, and nine parlays that were seemingly dead on arrival – all normal outcomes when consistently betting longshot parlays.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable, which we have achieved to date. Overall, these plays are 47-34 (58.0%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+800) look for July 7, focusing on today’s matchup between the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants!

MLB Parlay Piece for July 7, 2023

San Diego Padres -1.5 (+155)

Entering play on Friday, the New York Mets have won five games in a row and have finally started to look like the team that many people predicted during the preseason. The unfortunate reality is that the current construction of the New York roster is still deeply flawed. Tonight, Francisco Lindor and company will have to contend with Yu Darvish and the surging San Diego Padres. Darvish has consistently been better at home throughout his career and 2023 has been no different. Expect the good times to stop rolling for the Mets in this matchup – do not be surprised if the Padres win this contest comfortably.

Manny Machado 2+ Total Bases (+120)

Manny Machado has not done anything particularly admirable this year against right-handed pitching, but he has been much more productive at home than he has been on the road in 2023. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Justin Verlander, who has struggled to a 4.38 FIP against right-handed batters this year. At plus-money, this is a worthwhile inclusion in today’s longshot parlay.

Fernando Tatis 3+ Total Bases (+200)

According to props.cash, Fernando Tatis has recorded at least three total bases in 14 of his 32 home games this season. In front of the Friar faithful, Tatis owns a .336 batting average, 1.025 OPS, and a 182 wRC+ this season. Expect him to continue cooking on high heat in tonight’s matchup against New York.
