In Week 1, the Cowboys blasted the Giants 35-17. After the offensive explosion, the Cowboys were clearly bound for a deep playoff run and the Eli Manning-led Giants were on to 2020. Part of that sentence was true.

The 2-6 Giants recently returned Saquon Barkley to pair with Daniel Jones for a fresh look to their offense. Jones — albeit very inconsistent — went touchdown for touchdown with Matt Stafford in a Week 8 road loss to the Lions. Jones through four touchdowns to zero interceptions while eclipsing 300 passing yards for the second time in his career. Jones is far more athletic than the statuesque Eli Manning and will add another dimension to the Giants’ offense for the rematch on Monday night.

On the other hand, the Cowboys opened the season like a legitimate contender — rattling off three wins against bad teams in dominating fashion. After the hot start, the Cowboys lost three straight games with the last defeat against the Jets looking worse and worse each week. To snap the skid, the Cowboys pounded the Eagles, 37-10, in an all-important divisional game last weekend. The three Dallas Stars were working as Dak Prescott combined for two touchdowns, while Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott added one apiece. The momentum seems to be with Dallas and the Cowboys find themselves in a good spot on Monday night even with a big number to cover.

As the Cowboys figured out in Week 1, the Giants pass defense is abysmal. True to form, the Giants defense helped fuel Matt Stafford to a 342-yard passing performance. The Giants’ defense is credited with allowing four 300-yard games to opposing quarterback with Dak being one of them at 405 yards. DFS players love the Giants defense — for wide receiver selections — as New York is ranked third-worst in fantasy points allowed per game to opposing wide receivers (42.74). The statement cannot be emphatic enough — this defense welcomes passing.

Conversely, the Cowboys’ defense has held up pretty well — especially against the pass. Allowing 324.9 total yards per game, Dallas has the defensive playmakers to shut down any offense — especially one led by an inexperienced young quarterback. Jones has seven interceptions to his name thus far in 2019. The Cowboys are ranked tenth in pressure percentage — pressuring quarterbacks on 25.7% of opposing dropbacks. If Jones does not have time, we will see some turnovers.

The Monday Night Football Pick

Given that the line opened with Dallas -9, there could be value in this line if attacked before moving back across seven points. I am not crazy about laying this many points on the road, but given the circumstances, I would much prefer the Cowboys side of this at 6.5 points. If we can find this line at +7 or better for the Giants, I might prefer the other side. For now, I will take the Cowboys -6.5 on FanDuel.

The Pick: Cowboys -6.5
