What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll play single-entry GPPs. This is a big 8-game slate, but we can shrink it by crossing several teams off the list. GSW, HOU, WAS, SAC, CLE, and BOS all grade out pretty poorly in projections. Barring some injury news that could open up some value, these are teams I’m planning to avoid for the most part.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests. I will be locking in both Nikola Jokic and Trae Young and then playing the cheap value that we are getting in the UTA, NO, and IND games. Obi Toppin, Kevin Porter Jr., Johnny Juzang, and Karlo Matkovic are all great value plays I will be mixing in my lineup.

TJ Zwarych: I’m playing 20-entry max in large-field GPPs. I agree with Taylor’s strategy: I plan on basically excluding half the slate from the pool unless injury news shakes up projections. I plan to play as much Jokic as I can while mixing and matching the value from Indiana, New Orleans, Utah, and Milwaukee.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
