NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, May 7

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Jalen Williams
squirrelpatrol: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
headChopper: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Kyrie Irving – We currently have him projected for 9% ownership on DK and 27% on FD. For a 2-game slate, those are very enticing numbers. In the first round against the Clippers, he was certainly more valuable on a per-dollar basis than his teammate, Luka Doncic. He averaged 40 minutes and 46 fantasy points per game. And not that anyone can stop Luka, but perhaps Lu Dort can slow him down. I like the idea of targeting Kyrie at low pOWN% in Game 1.

squirrelpatrol: Dereck Lively – The options aren’t superb at center, and I expect Al Horford and Daniel Gafford to pick up ownership as two of the four starting options on the slate. Horford could see his game shortened by the score, however, and Gafford is generally the first starter off the floor for Dallas. Lively plays the majority of minutes that Gafford isn’t on the court and provides savings at a position we may not want to spend money at tonight.

headChopper: Caris LeVert – On a 2-game slate, let’s get different. Tough matchup for the Cavs and not one I want to pick on, but of the Cleveland guards, LeVert could potentially be the one seeing the best matchup for most of his possessions. Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell should draw Derrick White and Jrue Holiday for most of the game, while LeVert could see a bunch of his possessions against the Boston bench players and then get the lesser of the tough matchups when he plays alongside one of those starters. He is cheap and should be low owned.
