NBA Player Props, December 29, 2022

Tyrese Haliburton o18.5 points (-114)

As of this writing, Tyrese Haliburton is listed as questionable with a right knee bruise. Yet, if is healthy enough to suit-up, he should have a great opportunity to cash the over in this spot against a Cleveland Cavaliers defense that has struggled to defend the perimeter during the month of December, allowing their opponents to shoot 35.5% from beyond-the-arc. Haliburton enters play averaging 22.6 points per game on 15.5 shot attempts this month, and is averaging a season-high 8.5 shots from deep. Haliburton’s recent volume makes his points prop a must-play for bettors each time he takes the floor right now.

Donovan Mitchell o27.5 points (-130)

Donovan Mitchell has scored fewer than 15 points in consecutive games, both of which resulted in a loss for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though bettors may be scared off of this play based on his recent body of work, there is reason to believe that Mitchell bounces-back in a big way this evening against an Indiana Pacers team that ranks 6th in pace and 18th in defensive efficiency this season. Cleveland has a 20-11 record with Mitchell in the lineup this season, and Mitchell is averaging 30.8 points per game on 51.2% shooting in those 20 victories. In a favorable matchup against a lackluster defense, he will have a great opportunity to cash the over in this spot.

Gordon Hayward o15.5 points (-108)

Kelly Oubre is listed as doubtful for this evening’s action, which is likely to open up more volume for Gordon Hayward on the offensive end of the floor tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Per Court IQ, Hayward is averaging 17.4 points per 36 minutes this season when Oubre is off of the floor, and Hayward’s 3.1% increase in usage in such situations is the second-largest jump on the team – only trailing LaMelo Ball. This is a spot in which the market has not fully adjusted to the injury report, creating an environment in which bettors can take advantage.
