NBA Player Props Today – Monday, December 16, 2024
- Tyrese Maxey Over/Under 6.5 Assists
- Evan Mobley Over/Under 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Guerschon Yabusele Over/Under 18.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Tyrese Maxey UNDER 6.5 Assists (-150, BetMGM)
There isn’t a tremendous sample size this season in which both Embiid and Jared McCain have been off of the floor at the same time, but the data we do have shows pretty strongly that there could be some value on the under for Maxey’s assists. According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Maxey is averaging only 3.8 assists per 36 minutes this season with both players off of the court, which is a significant discrepancy between an over/under of 6.5 currently available on the market. Charlotte isn’t great defensively, which makes this a scary wager on the surface, but Maxey simply hasn’t had the necessary volume as a facilitator to justify a market number this high on Monday — regardless of the opponent.
Evan Mobley UNDER 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115, Bet365)
Mobley suffered a left ankle sprain last Sunday against the Heat and was subsequently held out in the team’s next game as a precaution. Mobley is an integral component of Cleveland’s core, making it likely that we see the team take a cautious approach with him as he ramps back up to a normal workload. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Mobley play fewer than 30 minutes, especially if Cleveland is playing with a comfortable lead. The under could have some sneaky value here.
Guerschon Yabusele OVER 18.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-118, FanDuel)
Embiid has been ruled out against the Hornets, which should lead to Yabusele seeing an expanded workload. In his last 10 games played with Embiid unavailable, Yabusele has eclipsed this market number 8 times, with 23 PRA or more in 7 of those contests. According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Yabusele sees a 5.3% usage increase with Embiid and McCain (also ruled out) off of the floor. He should have every opportunity to rack up counting stats in a favorable matchup to begin the new week.
