NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, December 14, 2023

Darius Garland Over/Under 22.5 Points

Darius Garland has put together back-to-back strong offensive showings with Evan Mobley out of the lineup, but it is unlikely that he will be able to sustain his recent level of success. In his last two games, Garland has played 39 minutes and 38 minutes, respectively, which is far more court time than his 33.9 minutes per game for the season. Garland has also taken 23 field goal attempts in each of the last two games, which is far more than his 15.9 field goal attempts per game this season. Garland has also been more efficient in his last two games than he has over a large sample size from the last three seasons. Mobley being out of the lineup certainly creates extra opportunities for Garland on the offensive end of the floor, but it is more probable than not that his numbers from the last two games are still outliers rather than the norm.

Nikola Jokic Over/Under 12.5 Rebounds

Nikola Jokic enters play on Thursday as the league’s top rebounder, averaging 12.5 boards per contest. He has been particularly good on the glass at home, averaging 13.3 rebounds per game on 22.1 rebound chances. After getting ejected on Tuesday after playing only 16 minutes, Jokic should be plenty rested for tonight’s game against a Brooklyn team that has struggled mightily to keep opposing centers off of the glass in recent weeks. This week alone, they have allowed 16 rebounds to Domantas Sabonis and 22 rebounds to Jusuf Nurkic. Jokic should be able to feast in this matchup, assuming a semi-competitive game script.

Nikola Vucevic Over/Under 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

This season, Nikola Vucevic is averaging less than one made three-point field goal per game. Of his 3.5 attempts per game from beyond the arc, 3.3 of them are coming from above the break, which is an area of the floor that the Heat have defended well across the last month of action – allowing the 11th-fewest attempts on such shots and the 8th-lowest opponent success rate. According to props.cash, the last center to make multiple three-pointers against Miami was Naz Reid on October 28. The juice is likely to be worth the squeeze in this spot.
