NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, December 25, 2024
- OG Anunoby Over/Under 20.5 Points + Rebounds
- Bronny James Over/Under 2.5 Points
- Bradley Beal Over/Under 20.5 Points
OG Anunoby OVER 20.5 Points + Rebounds (-105, DraftKings)
OG Anunoby has not been filling up the stat sheet too frequently of late, but there are some reasons to believe that positive regression is on the way for him. Anunoby has played at least 34 minutes in 7 of New York’s last 8 games, with the lone exception being a 26-point blowout victory against the Timberwolves. During that stretch, he’s taken 14+ shot attempts 6 times and has posted at least 8 rebound chances 6 times. On Wednesday, he gets a favorable matchup against the Spurs, which rank 21st in defensive rating across their last 8 games. San Antonio has been particularly poor when it comes to slowing down opposing forwards of late, ranking 30th in opponent field goal attempts per game and 30th in rebounds allowed per game to the position in that span. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Anunoby have a strong showing on Christmas.
Bronny James UNDER 2.5 Points (-180, Bet365)
Bronny James was called up from the G League on Monday but didn’t log any minutes in a loss to the Pistons. James has been making incremental improvements to his game in the NBA’s development league, but he’s still viewed by scouts as being a long way from making any meaningful contribution in the NBA. According to Marc Stein, “The unanimous view I heard from watching scouts at the Showcase is that James needs as much time as he can get in the G League to improve all aspects of his point guard play, from his floor game to his ability to make shots.” The Lakers and Warriors are within a half-game of each other in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture entering play on Wednesday. If James plays at all on Christmas, it’s likely to be for a very short stint. It is highly unlikely we see him make more than a single basket, if he scores at all.
Bradley Beal UNDER 20.5 Points (-115, Bet365)
According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Bradley Beal is averaging 23.5 points per 36 minutes this season with Devin Booker off of the floor. Beal has scored 23+ points in both games he’s played this year with Booker unavailable. However, his role has looked completely different with Booker healthy, scoring fewer than 20 points in 11 of those 16 games. Booker has missed the team’s last 2 games due to left groin soreness, but the Suns said he would be reevaluated early this week, leaving open the possibility that he suits up on Christmas Day. If Booker plays, this market number is simply too high.
