NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, January 15, 2025
- Ja Morant Over/Under 7.5 Assists
- Stephen Curry Over/Under 5.5 Made 3-Pointers
- James Harden Over/Under 7.5 Assists
Ja Morant UNDER 7.5 Assists (-140, DraftKings)
In 3 games since returning from injury, Morant is averaging 3.7 assists and 8 potential assists per game. Tonight, he will have to contend with a Spurs defense that has quietly been among the best in the NBA in recent weeks, allowing the 3rd-fewest points per 100 possessions across their last 8 games. Morant simply hasn’t had enough volume as a facilitator of late to justify a market number this high. The math favors the under.
Stephen Curry UNDER 5.5 Made 3-Pointers (-160, bet365)
Entering play, Curry has gone under this number in 23 of 31 games this season, including 13 of 16 road games. This season, Curry has stark home-and-away splits, shooting 35.3% from deep on the road compared to 46.9% at home.
Tonight, Curry will face a Minnesota defense that ranks in the top half of the NBA in defending guards at the 3-point line. No point guard has made more than 4 shots from beyond the arc against Minnesota in any game in January. This market number is simply too high for a 36-year-old who has shown clear signs of age-related decline.
James Harden OVER 7.5 Assists (-135, bet365)
Kawhi Leonard has only played 3 games this season, but the early returns indicate that Harden will operate as much more of a facilitator with his co-star healthy, compared to what we saw from him earlier in the season.
In 3 games with Leonard active, Harden has posted 15 assists on 23 potential assists, 8 assists on 12 potential assists, and 11 assists on 17 potential assists. Even more notable is that Harden has managed 8+ assists in his last 2 games against the Timberwolves and Heat – both teams that have allowed very few assists to guards.
Harden gets another tough matchup tonight against the Nets, who have allowed the fewest assists per game to guards across their last 8 games. Still, this is a playable number for Harden, especially at home.
