NFL DFS High Total Games Report: Week 9
Vegas Implied team totals are a solid foundational baseline for NFL DFS scoring opportunity each week. We can often make highly educated assessments on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo when we properly understand where the betting market sets the NFL odds for each game. In this article, we’ll open the GridironIQ betting tab and overview some key spots with high betting totals for the week. We’ll look for teams that can provide us high expectations for fantasy point production for the upcoming week. Our projections and projected ownership will be partially influenced by these data points, and we’ll want to be sure we know where the bookmakers stand for each and every game this week.

Today’s NFL DFS High Total Games Report
Seattle Seahawks
Opponent: Buffalo Bills
Game Total: 55
Team Total: 28.75
Point Spread: -2.5
A new game, another week in which the Seattle Seahawks have one of the highest implied totals on the main slate. Not only is Seattle’s offense a well-oiled machine, but their defense is so porous that it creates a game environment in which the Seahawks must play to simply outscore their opponent. I expect this game to be one of the highest owned game stacks of the slate with ownership concentrated around Russell Wilson, Tyler Lockett, and D.K. Metcalf for Seattle. Pending injury news, Deejay Dallas could also garner some healthy ownership after his big Week 8 performance. For Buffalo, look for Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs to be the primary targets. John Brown has been battling injuries all season but may be worth a look as a longer shot tournament option if he is active on Sunday.
Kansas City Chiefs
Opponent Carolina Panthers
Game Total: 53
Team Total: 31.75
Point Spread: -10.5
Say it with me: just because a game is expected to be a blowout doesn’t mean it can’t be relevant for fantasy. The Chiefs are once again double-digit favorites heading into Week 9’s matchup against the Panthers but don’t let the big point spread scare you off of grabbing exposure to this game. Carolina’s biggest defensive weakness this season has been against opposing rushing attacks but with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Le’Veon Bell in an equal timeshare it’s tough to rely on either for a big fantasy game. I’m more interested in investing in the Kansas City passing attack with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce being the primary targets. On the Carolina side of the ball, I’ll largely be limiting my exposure to D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson.
Minnesota Vikings
Opponent: Detroit Lions
Game Total: 52
Team Total: 28
Point Spread: -4
Minnesota rode Dalvin Cook to their surprise Week 8 victory over the Packers and I would expect them to have a similar game plan against the Lions in Week 9. Cook is one of the strongest running back options on the entire slate. If you’re looking to get leverage off Cook, Minnesota’s passing attack is in play in large-field tournaments with Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson being the primary targets. It’s also worth noting that Irv Smith is continuing to see an increase in field time and may be worth a small investment at his cheap price tag. The Lions have a ton of question marks at this point in the week with Matthew Stafford availability in question. Marvin Jones has shown signs of life lately while T.J. Hockenson has been a consistent fantasy producer all season long. D’Andre Swift makes a lot of sense in game stacks as his playing time increases when the Lions are forced to play from behind.
